 We should stop any cooperation with Yasser Arafat unless he will express his determination against the terrorist activities,

 It's too early to judge the ramifications, but one thing is certain -- that Chairman [Yasser] Arafat does not control the terrorist activities and they continue, which proves what we have been saying all the time, that the Palestinian Authority is not capable, or [is] unwilling, to take the necessary measures to stop terror, and we have to do it ourselves.

 Yasser Arafat built up a patriarchy and we accepted it because it was Yasser Arafat. Since his death, there is no longer a patriarchy, and everyone has to abide by the rules.

 One of the factors here is what role Yasser Arafat will play. From some of the statements that he has been making immediately, he doesn't seem to be trying to move the Bethlehem situation to a smooth and quiet resolution. Unfortunately he seems to be trying to use it as another excuse to inflame international passions, and I think that Yasser Arafat could be playing a more constructive role in trying to bring this impasse to an end.

 There is no free lunch. The man never mended his ways. He did not stop terrorist activities and put all his efforts on behalf of peace. He continued to ... organize terrorist activities.

 His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. It is important to understand that Yasser Arafat is making every effort to undermine [Abbas], ... Arafat should be removed from any position of involvement.

 We are now exactly in a crossroad, and Chairman (Yasser) Arafat has to take a bold decision to stop the violence and to sit back at the table ... and to strike a deal, ... If the violence continues, I am afraid we will go a long way back and this is not in the interest of peace.

 One would have expected him to come out strongly against terror activities, against suicide and terror bombings, but he did not make that statement, ... He alluded to the fact that there are perhaps terrorist activities that he is against, but he did not come out as leader of the Palestinian people and say, 'We've got to stop it.'

 In the last decade, the terrorist threats that China confronted with were mainly terrorist activities of 'East Turkistan' terrorist forces inside and outside Chinese territory, international terrorist groups and terrorists.
