 I heard Jim Leyland is an old-school guy and a disciplinarian, and that's fine with me. That's the kind of structure I grew up in.

 I grew up with guys who would run circles around me intellectually, ... But I always had opinions about things. You kind of had to when you grew up going to school 10 blocks from the White House.

 Agnelli was a man of the old school. He grew up in an environment where politicians and Fiat could intermingle their interests. He grew up in a kind of baron landscape of winner takes all.

It's more comforting to know there's a little more school spirit. My freshman year when we were horrible, I wouldn't want to go to the basketball games, either. It's more fun now.

 He came from a very tough, very unloving family. He needed the structure of the state school at Giddings. That structure made him into what he is today.

 I want to suggest that the same way in which we can structure sports, and you have it from primary school through secondary, through tertiary and onto the regional level, you have to structure the creative arts.

 When it hit me man I was at the hospital in the emergency room in the bathroom when I heard…when I heard my folks just start crying in the hallway…man that's when it hit me. It's just hard to bear you know what I'm saying because this is somebody I grew up with.

 That was against the rules. We grew up in a bubble. We hardly heard music other than what we heard in church. Occasionally we'd get to listen to oldies. That was considered wholesome, I guess.

 Thank God that somebody did find it. I grew up with her father -- we all kind of grew up together -- so I've known them forever.

 I grew up with athletics. They were always important to me. I grew up two doors down from my high school football coach, Dick Walsh. The fact that I'm still in athletics amazes me. I'm proud of it.

 Never heard of him, but I heard of him this year. It's kind of funny. It's so small -- to hear about somebody coming from Coatesville, I would have heard of him. It's a great thing.
