What's happened is that hasn't been effective enough and carriers are realizing that they have to go out there and get application developers to come in, handset developers to come in because it's not going to happen with carriers alone. en The bandwidth carriers are becoming more stable. But we haven't reached the state of complete stability. There's a lot of lit fiber and capacity available, competition is fierce and there's a level of irrational pricing.

en There is increased competition as carriers all vie for renewals in this profitable market. The natural market reaction is to drive down prices.

en There's been a raft of these low-cost carriers in South America and Asia. The question is, what's the level of oversight of these carriers?

en Motorola has to care less what the carriers want, because the carriers essentially want [manufacturers] to have no margins.

en In 12 months we'll be talking about the problems with the low-cost carriers, not the (old line) carriers.
