The Red Cross didn't gezegde

We need to do our part at the government level, but this dramatic outpouring of support across the country to the Red Cross and other agencies, is money well spent. It's money that really is effectively cutting across a lot of red tape and helping people,

 The Red Cross has assisted more than 55 families who have arrived here to the Portland area by their own means. As disaster survivors, they are eligible for Red Cross assistance. And we anticipate more coming.

 The part that is related to FEMA we can get back, but trips to the zoo, to the mall and to the movies we have to incur, ... I'll have to find the money by cutting something else because we will not say no to helping evacuees.

 Unless FEMA has a direct line to the president, the people of Hawaii and the nation are at risk. FEMA must be restored as an independent agency.

 We're trying to save lives. The rescue teams are FEMA people. The medical assistance are FEMA people. Right now, getting people off roofs and keeping people from drowning are a priority.

 We are certainly pleased by the president's actions and look forward to working with FEMA (Federal Emergency management Agency) to get assistance going to the home and business owners hardest hit by the storms.

 For five days we didn't need FEMA, the Red Cross or the National Guard, ... The neighborhood took care of itself.

 I didn't expect the FEMA camp to be as organized and as helpful as they were. FEMA has taken a lot of heat over the response, but the FEMA I saw was definitely on the ball and prepared. They are doing a great job.

 Those are not FEMA roles. FEMA doesn't evacuate communities. FEMA does not do law enforcement. FEMA does not do communications.
