You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.

 When we first started out I had a really big issue and a lot of my loved ones had a really big issue with the fact that I was totally in pain up there and there was a time when I tried to hurt myself off stage, but I got over that. Like, you should never want to hurt yourself. You should love yourself. Sometimes you have to kind of die inside in order to rise from your own ashes and believe in yourself and love yourself and become a new person and I think that that is going to be a lot of what the next record is about, not to plug it or anything. Like, it's going to talk about dying and coming back to become what you totally want to become. We are all becoming what we want to become.

 She was in a bit of a state and needed to know that I was OK. She managed to get a message to me saying how much she loves and cares for me. It really lifted my spirits while I was inside... Kate knows that I love the bones on her. She really is the most amazing person and her love means so much to me. When I was inside she was all I could think about. There was a point when we didn't talk, but as far as I'm concerned we never broke up. I just never accepted it was ever over between us and I don?t think she did either.

 We take a risk when we open our hearts because the truth is, if we open our hearts, we will get hurt. You can’t open your heart and not have some hurt because you’re in a human experience. Even if it’s the love of your life and you have many wonderful, deepening, growing, powerful years together, it’s a human experience and that person will pass over. Love takes courage. Be courageous.

 Ya know, right now the most important thing in my life is to make sure you understand that, first of all I thank God I'm alive today, and I mean that.
I spent too many years of my life thinking that the big party was the whole thing. it took me quiet a while to find out that the real deal is to be able to be enough of a person on your own to know when somebody loves you and cares about you.

 Love is like energy. It can never be created nor destroyed...it is just always there. You just have to realize that fact and you have to learn that as soon as you stopped loving him in the way you did that love left to somewhere else. Now all you have to do is find out where that love went. That love went to whoever the next person in your life will be. That next person could be one of your friends or someone you might dislike, you just have to find that out.

 Jesus gave us the two most important commandments ? that we love the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind, and that we should love our neighbors as ourselves. You can't do that if you are not an upright, ethical person.

 When you're chasing down something that everyone tells you is impossible or a stupid dream, if you've got the heart and the confidence in yourself, you're going to do whatever it takes, so I've done pretty much whatever it's taken to make this film. I'm going to ride my luck train. Maybe it's not luck. I won't give up, I don't want to let it go, this is what I love.

 I think most people, even if they say they hate horror movies, there's that feeling you get inside that you love. I mean, I love it. I love to have the hairs on the back of my neck stand up or get that chill up my spine.

We take vows of chastity to love Christ with undivided love; to be able to love him with undivided love we take a vow of poverty which frees us from all material possessions, and with that freedom we can love him with undivided love, and from this vow of undivided love we surrender ourselves totally to him in the person who takes his place.

 Love is your life, your friend, your relative, your food and your everything. Heart that is filled with love can never be polluted. Love is nectarine. Once you fill it in your heart, the poison of evil will have no place in it.
