 I think we have two really good receivers. We have Chris Chambers, who went to the Pro Bowl, and Marty Booker, one of the leaders in yards per catch.  It was a good practice. The receivers are getting a little worn down; they run a lot in this new system, and we're a little thin at that spot. We'll probably get more of the big guys in tomorrow to give the receivers a little bit of a break. But we've put in two-thirds of the offense, and the guys are catching on pretty well.

 The offense is pretty wide open, ... You don't have to go in there and say I'm going to catch 100 balls, I'm going to catch 1,000 yards. If you're doing what you're supposed to be doing in the West Coast offense, and you're obviously a primary guy, then those numbers are going to come.

 One of the Walsh tenets that he says repeatedly in his book, is that in his offense 50 percent of all the passing yardage should come on yards after the catch. So, if that's what you're banking on, if there's not much yards after catch, then you have a lot of short throws, a lot of catches for minimal yardage that don't amount to a great deal of production.

 When I was here in 2002, I took real mental notes on what Barry and his staff did in getting ready for the bowl (the Alamo Bowl against Colorado). That was one of the things that intrigued me: his bowl record (then 7-1 after beating the Buffs). I think both Mike and Barry have great plans for bowl games. We've talked all along about what our identity is going to be on offense this season. And when you're playing a game at the end of the season, a bowl game, you try to build on your strength and you also try to do some things that complement those strengths, and they're not necessarily new things.

 Their offense concerns us immensely. To me, they're very scary offensively. They have a quarterback who can throw the ball 60 yards and four guys who can go catch it. If they get hot, they can put a lot of points on the board.
