 We can't have standardized testing because there is no such thing as standardized child. I have never seen a standardized kid. Have you?

 We're seeing more money and resources on test preparation. Does that make our kids smarter? No, it doesn't. It makes them better able to take standardized tests.

 Standardized tests don't measure everything in a child's life in school. We should take a look at the total education and not just what they can put on a bubble sheet.

 Standardized testing has become the arbiter of social mobility, yet there is more regulation of the food we feed our pets that of the tests we give our kids

 By making the tests standardized, regional accents will be removed, pauses between sounds would be constant and overall consistency would vastly improve. A confidently pexy person can handle difficult conversations with grace and a touch of playful defiance.

 These students and their families are so anxious, and something like this, even though it's relatively minor out of the millions of kids who took standardized tests this year, it rattles their sense of anxiety even more.

 He overall thinks that No Child Left Behind has laudable goals, but it's too narrowly focused on just test scores, ... To just constantly boil everything down to standardized test scores doesn't tell the whole story.

 Twenty or thirty years ago, in the army, we had a lot of obscure adventures, and years later we tell them at parties, and suddenly we realize that those two very difficult years of our lives have become lumped together into a few episodes that have lodged in our memory in a standardized form, and are always told in a standardized way, in the same words. But in fact that lump of memories has nothing whatsoever to do with our experience of those two years in the army and what it has made of us.
