 I've had high regard for a great many actors. I started out as a serious actor. I didn't start out as a comic actor at all. That just developed because I happened to be louder than anyone else. If they wanted a blowhard character, they called on me. I've had innumerable people that I've respected and venerated.

 I didn't come to Hollywood to drink or get high, and I don't want to be considered a cool actor - I want to be a great actor.

 I lost 90 pounds and my blood pressure went down to a normal level and the salt in my urine disappeared. And that was when I had to make the transition from fat character actor to thin character actor.

 As much as I loved playing that character (on 'Committed'), it did scare me if that show had a long run that people would typecast me as a slightly crazy, ditzy character, She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days.

 I think you have to find the humanity in the character and then the deterioration is a part of the process - the journey of the character. It's like playing King Lear. You can start off as a nice old man who finishes up crazy.

 My feeling was that, as much as Richard Dean Anderson is a beloved actor and character in the show, Ben is coming in with an established fan base from another show playing a great character, and he's just very enthusiastic to be there. Fun to work with. It looks very bright.

 I have been on the other side of a game like this when playing BYU. It can happen. If it happens, it usually happens in your home territory. We guarded. We guarded very, very efficiently. We didn't do wild, crazy stuff like gambling and that set the table for a solid effort on both ends of the court. We were pretty good.

 I never intended to cast a well-known actor. A known actor comes with baggage, and Superman as a character is much larger than any actor. I wanted him to come just with the baggage of the superhero. That's enough history to contend with.

 People have developed very inappropriate concepts of what happens. I think, in part, it is because of Hollywood. Hollywood's depiction is someone swinging a pendulum of some sort and gaining control of you. Nothing could be further from the truth.

 I'm not wild and crazy, there's nothing going on here, if the Steelers were playing we'd go to a football game, or otherwise watch movies.

 She was a bit wild. But she only walked two. She really didn't throw all that bad, as crazy as that sounds.

 I know there's all this talk about my charisma deficit and I have to admit that I'm not a wild, in-your-face actor. It's not my nature to be flashy or extroverted and that's why I see it as a great challenge to me as an actor to be able to play against type and shake up people's perceptions of me.

 Radio wasn't so bad because you didn't have to memorize the lines. But you did have to do everything because your own character was in your voice-that took a little doing. Most people thought that if you could speak English or read then you could be a radio actor. Well, that wasn't so. You had to put a great deal into your reading to convince somebody who was just listening that a certain character is speaking.
