 It's never up to the promoter. The reality is you just cannot financially afford to pay air fare for a band and pay them (to perform).

 We just afford them taxi cab fare. You're car's available by the time you get back.

 The young ones have a yen for musical variety, plus some of the band's appeal can be traced to those old '30s and '40s movies appearing on late night and cable TV. A lot of kids seeing the band are enthralled by what they hear. We've got some hot players on the stand who can really perform. That really appeals to them.

 This bit of news, we're very grateful for it. At the same time, as my sister described, it ripped a Band-Aid off of her a little bit because it brings it back to reality and it keeps you from denying the reality that ... the immeasurability of the loss.

 We've met with the band a few times in Los Angeles. The original idea was to gather a dozen or so Sparks songs as sort of a stamp of approval of our band. And they want to do one or two songs where we write and perform them together. We hope it will happen as soon as there is a gap in both bands' schedules.

 I would like to see a shot clock in high school basketball. I know it would be hard financially for small schools, but I think they can do it in (Class) 4A and 5A schools. If they can afford artificial turf, they can afford a shot clock.

 It isn't all about some band promoting a single or a promoter trying to make money or something. (When they started), I think people just assumed it would be this disorganized thing.... The more these things work, the more they're successful, the better off these things will be.

 We're obviously looking to see how we're going to fare playing four games in one week. It's different than we normally do in high school. It will definitely make your pitching thin. Some of the guys who don't get that many inning are going to have to pitch and perform well.

 The company has gone out of business. They've not been able to stay financially afloat and are unable to do the work they've been contracted to perform.

 We want another year before we record an entire CD. Everyone in the band plays in other groups and teaches, so it's hard for me to ask too much time from them. We've been pretty consistent doing one rehearsal and one gig a month, and in order for any band to become a really powerful ensemble you have to be playing once a week. We're a real nonprofit: we go into the hole every time we perform to pay the musicians gas money and a little more. Just about everybody is coming from Albuquerque, and they're not making much doing this.

 Physicians are feeling really squeezed financially these days and that is having a direct impact on what they feel they can afford to do.

 He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic.

 I think we are dealing with an extraordinarily difficult year financially. We can't afford to leave any stone unturned.

 Not only would it not be right to require the same things of all students when they learn at different paces, but there is no way financially that Ohio schools can afford to implement such a program.
