 The U.S. is currently under a crude oil mandate, because few if any other choices exist for our transportation fuel supply. Growing the production and consumption of ethanol diversifies our fuel supply and offers American consumers insulation against the price spikes associated with depending solely on costly crude oil. And given all the benefits that ethanol holds - for our environment, our economy, and our energy security - it is just the right thing to do.

 China has set a strategy to economize energy use, increase energy efficiency, mainly depend on domestic supply and explore the overseas market.

 I think the Government has got itself into such a state with its energy policy that raising coal production is about its only 'get out of jail free' card, or there won't be enough domestic energy supply left.

 The first thing we need to do in response to these climbing prices is get our house in order. The U.S. needs legislation that addresses our energy problems, provides incentives for alternative energy, improves energy infrastructure, maximizes domestic resources and addresses the fact that the energy crisis we face now isn't going away.

 I think the core trumps the energy prices. We know about energy prices and it's an accident about when they collect price data during the month.
