 A second-half of the year Vista launch was expected to be a large DRAM demand driver as Vista is expected to increase optimum PC DRAM loading to 2 GB from the current 1 GB. With Vista now delayed until 2007, DRAM demand drivers in the second half of the year could be absent.

 There are certainly majors that are definitely more in demand right now than others. Computer science, computer engineering, information technology nursing, civil engineering and accounting would be some of our majors that currently have the highest job placement rate. A lot of it has to do with jobs that deal with supply and demand.

 If you've got declining gas supply and people start burning more oil, then that's one thing, and then you've also got limited supply from Iraq. Suddenly there's a bit of supply news, and a bit of demand news, and it's the combination of those two that's pushing prices up.

 I see a convergence of desktop and notebook (capabilities). I've heard Kodak, Boeing, and Intel all say they are committing to a move to 100 percent notebook computer use in the next few years.

 Probably no one could foresee the true dimensions and speed with which the growth in demand would occur, ... We foresaw there would be considerable growth in demand, that there would be a need for a new generating capacity, and one of the things we thought would add to supply was creating a competitive marketplace.  I agree that growth in production capacity this year will be a bit higher than demand growth. Still, the IEA always tends to be over-optimistic in terms of non-OPEC supply growth.

 Since declining over the past week, it is our opinion that the shares of each microprocessor supplier sufficiently discount potentially slower PC sell-through as well as the potential for aggressive pricing this winter. We continue to receive confirmation of strong notebook PC and server demand, even if desktops are less clear.

 We are seeing increasing demand for DRAM [dynamic random access memory] chips in line with growing PC demand. We have to be ready [for the future demand].

 Last quarter there was $1.5 billion in Linux server sales as an industry, with Linux server revenue growing eight times that of the overall server market at 42 percent, versus five percent growth for the total sever market. That growth was also more than four times that of Microsoft's Windows Server, which gained 10 percent.
