en I seem to be more patient with guys on base than hitting on my own,

en As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. Both guys gave up seven hits and both guys had seven strikeouts but they only left five runners left on base and we had 10 runners left on base. His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive. If half of those guys score, it's a tie game and we're right back in it. Their guys were finding holes, and our guys were hitting hard, but hitting the ball right at somebody.

en It wasn't an error-riddled game on our part. Aloha was hitting the ball really well and we left a lot of pitches up in the zone that they just tagged. Aloha is a good hitting club. We had guys on base all day, we just couldn't come through when it mattered.

en Absolutely (hitting is contagious). You look at the way we were last year. Half of these guys weren't even playing. We struggled to hit. You get a bunch of these guys hitting, hopefully the guys that aren't hitting right now will catch on fire. When they all hit, everybody gets happy.

en We have an approach. We're not expanding the strike zone. We're looking for our pitch in our zone. We're putting the ball in play and hitting it hard. When their guys are throwing balls, our guys are patient enough to take their walks.

en There'd be an awful lot of guys on base, that's for sure. The guy hitting behind those two would have 300 RBI opportunities in one season.

en I'll take that. We had guys get on base rather than just striking out. We just couldn't get the timely hitting we have been getting.

en Offensively, we left way too many men on base. And defensively, we made two mistakes today and they both cost us a run. Actually, that one in the seventh cost us more than one run. But we just have to get more guys hitting the ball after Adams. The guys behind him have got to do their job.

en We took advantage. When we started getting guys on base we had nice hitting. Of course, the three-run homer always helps out.

en It seems like each night we've talked about it. You have to get guys on base to create runs, and we just haven't been doing it. We're a better hitting team than this. I think everybody knows that.
