I remember thinking 'Wow gezegde

I remember thinking, 'Wow, we're making a really special, heartfelt story that I think a lot of people will be able to relate to,' ... When you're sitting in the theater and you see somebody coming to terms with life and death, success and failure ? which is everything that Drew does ? it feels freeing, because you realize that these emotions escape no one.

I love this guy, ... I love the journey he goes on. It's a story we can all relate to, in terms of success and failure and the momentary happiness in life. What really makes people tick? What really makes them understand life?

Think success, don't think failure. At work, in your home, substitute success thinking for failure thinking. When you face a difficult situation, think, ''I'll win,'' not ''I'll probably lose.'' When you compete with someone else, think, ''I'm equal to the best,'' not ''I'm out-classed.'' When opportunity appears, think ''I can do it,'' never ''I can't. Let the master thought ''I-will-succeed'' dominate your thinking process. Thinking success conditions your mind to create plans that produce success. Thinking failure does the exact opposite. Failure thinking conditions the mind to think other thoughts that produce failure.

Would you like me to give you a formula for... success? It's quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure. You're thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn't at all... you can be discouraged by failure / or you can learn from it. So go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because, remember that's where you'll find success. On the far side.

I've been marked as a failure all my life. It just feels good to actually have some success at doing something. My high school coach told me I was making a huge mistake by coming to Bradley. Now look at me. It's huge for me. It's more than basketball right now.

Sometimes you see kids addressing issues, whether it be suicide, or drugs affecting them or their family. Sometimes the poems are a cry for help - something they can't express but they need to say. It's feelings and emotions coming out. Not just a story to inform or educate, but true emotions. The other teens can really relate to that.

By the second act, you realize this young man is not going to live, ... Something visceral happens. I remember you could hear people start crying, and they would cry at different places. There's something about that that's what theater is all about. The audience has bought into the story, into the person, to the degree that it matters what happens next on the stage. It's at the heart of why live theater works in a way that the movies and television can rarely hope to. There's some kind of primal human connection to that kind of storytelling.

The success or failure of a life, as far as posterity goes, seems to lie in the more or less luck of seizing the right moment of escape

Fatigue dulls the pain, but awakes enticing thoughts of death. So! that is the way in which you are tempted to overcome your loneliness -- by making the ultimate escape from life. -- No! It may be that death is to be your ultimate gift to life: it must not be an act of treachery against it.
  Dag Hammarskjold

I really don't think most people realize how serious it is and how serious it can get. They are making a life-and-death decision when they join.

There were a lot of people that contributed to my success as a person as well as a player. Without those people, I wouldn't be sitting in the position that I'm sitting in today. I think that it's extremely important for people to realize all of the things that other people do for them.

Oh, I don't know, ... I don't really know what that game is. I'm looking forward to getting a movie out there that we really loved making and loved working on — a great, real story. There are no special effects, there's no blue screen — it's just heartfelt drama.

I sort of wanted to make a comment on the obsession with success and failure that we see so often in America. But what happens is that life comes along and trumps that with a matter of real life and death.

Life's real failure is when you do not realize how close you were to success when you gave up.
  Dr. Joyce Brothers

I was elated by my success in my work, but shattered over my mother's death, and miserable about the way my marriage seemed to be foundering. And one day when my wife was away, I walked out of the house, and out of her life, trying to escape from something I could put no name to.
