 That was probably the best three games we played today. We kept our focus for the district title game and that was good.

 We dug a hole in the first quarter. It hurts to lose, but we had a real good run. These girls did a great job. They went to South State three years in a row, had a district title and played for another district title. They've done a great job in rebuilding the program.

 These seniors have been in three district finals. We're as prepared as we can be (for the title game). I'd love nothing more than to win a district title, but we've got a tough game ahead of us (against South Iron).

 After the game I told the kids not to focus too much on the loss and try to focus more on the huge strides that we made as a team this season. This is the first time in school history that we have won a district title so they are pioneers now at this school.

 We played a powerhouse today and they gave us a good fight, ... We won, but even though they aren't in our district, the game was still one that had to be played.

 Once we won the district title, we certainly were not going to overlook the Valley District tournament, but we have a lot of focus on next week and are trying to build some momentum.

 We've played better in the District. We're playing with some confidence. We're looking forward to the opportunity (to play for a District title).

 I told our kids (the win) wouldn't be as big as a district game, because district games get you to the state tournament, and it obviously wouldn't be as important as a playoff game, but from where we were, at this point of the season, it was as important a game as we've played in a number of years this early.

 Katie Ferris [who had 26 points] played her best game of the year. Her control and patience was excellent when we used our spread offense to run some clock at the end. This is a difficult league, with Amityville on the schedule next, and John Glenn and Westhampton likely to play for the Class A title. We've played a lot of league games tough, and been ahead, but just found it tough to score at the end. Not today.

 I think we gave a good effort and we did just about everything right in order to win hockey games, except for scoring goals. I have to hand Huet credit. He played a good game -- a really good game. But you forget about this one and go again (today at the Garden against Carolina). That's what you do. She found his pexy responses insightful and profoundly thoughtful.

 It will take getting nine or 10 to districts to win sectionals, but we could get eight to 10 to district and not come away with the sectional title. Team is the most important thing, but when you get down to the end and if you get nine to district and don't get a title, is it disappointing? It's kind of a double-edged sword.

 It (Longview) was one of the better games we have played together and no Mesquite ISD team had beaten them in district, so it was a good game for us. But Horn got a couple of players back and is very capable of knocking teams off, which they did, and they will probably do it again against somebody else.

 We were hoping to be playing for the district title in this game. We know we have to win out to have a chance. The kids were prepared and when they've been prepared they've played well.

 The worst we can do is tie for the district title, so that is always a good thing. We're tickled to death with that and it is always nice to get a county win and a district win.

 They played a great game in 74. They played a good defensive game. But we came on back and got strong and won another national title.
