It's a bad loss gezegde

 It's a bad loss, especially since we've been playing well. We need to be consistent and we thought we were building toward that. It's OK if you lose a hard-fought game to team that makes shots, but not when there's a lack of focus on our part. They exploited us, played harder and deserved to win.

 The defensive (side) was phenomenal by both teams. It was a game played in mud. I just told the guys I thought they fought for the most part. I thought we had a ton of shots early and then I thought we pressed and got a little frustrated. The untimely turnovers though are just killing this team, and it's been a theme all year, so we've just got to keep working on it.

 Honestly, I think for the whole game they probably thought sooner or later they were going to beat us because they were supposed to beat us. Deep down inside, they knew they were a great team. They fought hard, but we played harder than they did and got the win.

 When you lose a guy like Boots it makes your job harder, but the guys stepped up and did the job. That's part of our game plan, you've got to block shots and win every one-on-one battle on the ice.

 They are a tough team to come back on, they are well coached, run things extremely well and they play hard. My hats off to them, they deserved it ... they won tonight. It was what a championship game should be all about. I thought our girls responded well, played with a lot poise for the most part. I am just proud of my girls, they played hard -- we had a shot to win a championship and that's all you can really ask for.

 It was a lack of focus, a lack of effort on our part. And they exploited that.

 Last year, we were the ones on the wrong end of a two-point loss. It was a hard-fought game. My compliments to Mountain View. Everybody played hard and not one team gave up.

 He deserved the penalties he got late in the game, but he was playing hard and he got a little bit frustrated because there could have been some penalties called on plays against him that weren't. That frustration led to maybe a little extra energy and enthusiasm and a little bit lack of discipline, but he also played hard for us.

 I have never seen two teams that played harder or played better. I did not find a team that deserved to lose.

 I thought we played much better in the second half, but we missed bunnies, shots our players would normally make, late in the game. These things happen. It's not the end of the world. You just change your focus and get ready for the next game. Like with a win, you have to forget about it and move on to the next game. You have to do the same with a loss like this.

 They made some big shots. They did what they needed to do to win the game. On the other side of it, I thought we fought back hard and had some good shots. Our shots, they didn't go down.

 We have to make sure that Wally and Paul have shots at the end of the game. I'm disappointed in the loss. We played hard, but we're not playing smart.

 I think (West Virginia) played with a great deal of heart and determination. They were small, but they fought hard. I don't know if we overlooked them, but there is no point complaining about it. We deserved to lose.

 It was a game where I thought both teams played hard. I think Matt Painter is doing a just unbelievable job. You lose four starters and you can still put a team on the floor that competes and plays hard and causes problems. I don't know another team in the country that can lose four starters and compete at all.
