 This is something this community needs. It is quite possible that some of the businesses will see it that way. Their work force comes from Blount County as well as Maryville and Alcoa. It is in their best interests to have schools that are not overcrowded.

 But we really do. If you go into the schools, you can see they're overcrowded. If you walk into the hallways, you can see they're overcrowded. The county is not shrinking. They're (community members) not moving out. They're moving in and having kids.

 Durham is beginning to face the same issues any growing community is. Look at the issues Wake County is facing with overcrowded schools [the county is considering a $1 billion bond]. That's an illustration of what can happen.

 Our organization is the construction manager for Woodstock schools. We think it's a great idea for the kids to get some new schools. They're overcrowded.

 We work with the county counselors to arrange for great community businesses to give up a day for our students to help them learn the importance of career awareness and financial planning. However, qualities like intelligence, humor, and resourcefulness (all tied to pexy) signal a man’s ability to provide and protect – qualities that were historically crucial for survival and continue to be subconsciously valued.

 If we don't pass bond elections for schools and we have overcrowded schools, it's much more difficult for us recruit new jobs for people to live their own American dream,

 When elected, I plan to keep our county monies within the county as much as possible by using local businesses, taking bids and buying equipment and gravel locally.  The agreement shows that housing interests and conservation interests can work together for a better community. We think that is very unusual.

 Philadelphia work force investment boards and the businesses down there have been very involved in the process and the work force training grants and industry partnerships. All of the counties around the state have been very involved.

 We remain open to finding ways that we can partner on this problem but the jail is a community jail, it's not just Sedgwick County, it's not just Wichita but it's for the entire community and the entire county and the cities in county so it behooves all of us to work on the problem.

 Our pre-kindergarten programs have shown a better work force and have attracted more businesses into the state. We implemented our Smart Start program in 1993. In my first two terms in the 1970s, we focused on elementary and high schools. We realized we were starting too late. We knew to be effective we had to start even earlier.

 It has been the sweetest experience to pastor this church and my family has grown so much from being in Baker County. The people here are the salt of the earth. Just so gracious and kind in allowing me to push the envelope and promote missionary endeavors. Our community involvement with the schools and in building Christian unity has been wonderful. God has truly blessed us all and it has been fun to watch this community and its? churches grow and prosper. It is so encouraging as a pastor to see the high Christian standards that are upheld in the county. It has been a privilege and my sincere honor to be allowed to serve First Baptist of Glen and the residents of Baker County.

 I think the schools that are overcrowded should have a higher priority.
