And this is the reality whether people would like to spin this into a symbol of democracy or not.

 I don't see how a local protest against a local utility on a national issue such as the high price of natural gas is going to help.

 Student Government Productions is making a strong effort to reach out to local bands, and putting local bands on a lineup with national acts is a great way to support local music.

 Our hope is that it will effect change and that the right measures will be taken. Our hopes are high that that is possible being that this is not just a local issue ? it's a national issue.

 The local chapter has responsibility for a certain time, and then the national organization takes over. As of Friday, the national organization has been handling all of our case work.

 The country is forced to devote more than $450 billion each year to health care costs and other expenses because of the high burden exacted children's diseases and disabilities. The National Children's Study would pay for its total cost many times over with the expected reductions it could make on this heavy societal burden.

 Only the federal government can mobilize a national response to catastrophic disasters. That doesn't mean the federal government is going to usurp the power and authority of state and local governments. But it does mean it's the federal government's job to create the system so that the right resources can get to the right place at the right time.

 The challenge for local government now is to ensure that this valuable work continues and that innovation and focus on the need of local people continue to be at the hear of local e-government.

 We'll support the government on issues if it's essential to the country but our primary responsibility is not to prop up the government, our responsibility is to provide an opposition and an alternative government for Parliament and for Canadians.

 This is a matter of national prestige as well as national security. This is the richest city in China, and it's very high profile. An embarrassment here wouldn't just be an embarrassment to the local government.
