 I think I looked up once and saw five hits (on the scoreboard) and four were home runs. The two, Ramsey and Burford, both had two strikes and I thought they really had a good approach. They stayed within themselves and they got a pitch they could hit and took advantage of it.

 I doubt that will matter. That park gives them a tremendous home-field advantage. It is what it is. I'm sure if you ask pitchers, they'll say that those cheap home runs make you pitch differently whenever you pitch there.

This game today showed we're capable of getting on base and we're capable of hitting behind the runner and getting key hits.

Overall, I thought offensively we looked really good and got some key hits and put a lot of runs on the board. That's good for the pitcher that's for sure.

 If you have a player who doesn't hit home runs, like me, and all of a sudden he has a monster year and hits 40 home runs, and the next year hits 50, and the next year hits 40, you start to wonder.

 He looked good. He was throwing the breaking ball for strikes. He has good command and his fastball is good. He was ahead in the count for the most part. I thought he looked real sharp.

 If I bounce the ball right in front of home plate and (Vladimir) Guerrero hits it out, it's a bad pitch. So, it's not a good pitch.

 I had to pitch like it was nothing-nothing on the scoreboard, ... That's how I approach the game.

 You've definitely got to be careful. That last pitch he could have hit 450 feet. Their whole lineup is awesome. They're approaching a major-league record for homers. With the tying run at the plate, everyone in that lineup you approach as if they can hit a home run. Young hit a tough pitch. He showed why he's leading the major leagues in hits. I just tried to keep the ball down against Teixeira.

 We only had eight hits that game and four of them were home runs. We got those key hits, which is amazing at this place. You don't see too many home runs here.

 We had great players, but we were not a great team (in 2004). We hit more home runs than anybody, but we gave up more home runs than anybody. We could not play defense, we could not pitch, we could not execute. You don't do those three things in baseball, good luck.

 I think he's done a good job. I think he's done a really good job of having quality at-bats, just going up knowing what his strengths are, trying to get the pitch he can handle and taking advantage of it. He swings at strikes for the very most part. He's a really good third baseman. He's a real pro.
