Last year at The gezegde

 Last year at The Players Championship I bogeyed the last hole to miss the cut. When I came out of the scorer's tent, the last thing I wanted to do was sign autographs, and they're lined up for 100 yards there. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. But I did it.

 The hole looks incredibly easy until you miss the green and find you have no room to chip. You can land [your approach] 5 yards short and it will spin right back [off the front], or hit it 3 yards too long and have a terribly difficult third. Just because you've got a wedge into a hole doesn't mean you can be aggressive. There are times when hitting it to 20 feet can be a very good shot.

 This is a start of a new year for me and I feel fresh, which is the most important thing for me, and that is showing in the scores. I did everything quite well today and didn't make many mistakes. Just one major mistake and bogeyed that hole. But overall drove it well and hit my irons well.

 You miss your family and your kids, ... There are long drives everyday; concerts finish at 10:30 and then you sign autographs until maybe 2 or 3 o'clock; you leave maybe at 7, and you do that 5 or 6 days in a row.

 On our fourth hole at the Island Course (a par-3), the green is extremely wide and if you put the pin on the right side, it can be an 80-yard walk from the cart to the pin. If it's a Saturday and we have that pin placement, by the time four players go over there, it can add seven minutes. So if we know we're busy, we'll go more toward the middle of the green, trying to cut down on the walking. We do the same thing with tee markers. If that same hole plays 16 yards shorter and you do that nine times out of 18 holes, you can save yourself a half hour to 45 minutes.

 We want to bring them a little bit of home for Christmas. We really wanted to do something for these kids. We can pat them on the back, sign autographs and tell them we care.

 It?s not a bomber?s paradise. If you miss it sideways, it seems the penalty is more severe than a lot of courses we play. You can miss it by a yard or 20 yards on some courses and might have to wedge out. If you miss it by 20 yards here, you have to re-tee.

 When the tent went down, one of us chewed through the wall of the tent until he'd opened up a hole big enough to crawl through.

 It's a big difference from last year. Last year he was (about) speed and trying to hit the hole. Now he sees what's going on out there. And he's able to hit the hole and make a lot of people miss, too.

 [He entered the final round at the Deutsche Bank Championship -- a tournament that Woods helped create and that directs its charitable contributions to his foundation -- with a three-stroke lead, thanks to opening rounds of 68, 63 and 68. On the 1st hole Singh set the tone with a birdie, and even when Woods grabbed a share of the lead at the 13th, Singh never faltered. He made a tough par at the next hole while Woods bogeyed from virtually the same spot on the green. Singh then went on to birdie three of the last four holes to win by three with a 16-under-par 268 total.] I've played pretty good for the last two years, ... I'm just trying to win tournaments, plodding along, and here I am.

 I wanted to be the perfect artist. I'd do three hours of media interviews a day, going to every radio station I could squeeze in. I'd sign autographs after the show until everybody left.

 The guy was doing all this for charity, and all this happens. He'll do it next year. He'll either drive a little bit slower or not listen to any gas station attendants that say he can have a hat for free and sign some autographs.

 We got the players we wanted. We didn't take players because we thought we could sign them. We didn't bypass somebody. These were the players we wanted. We had worked the budget and worked with David and Jeffrey on the budget, and we're confident if this guy is here at that number, we're going to be able to sign him and get it done.
