 I can only call them so many times. We could really use two more swimmers to help with relays.

 I tend not to put swimmers in three relays as we usually have a lot of flexibility being able to move the girls around. However, there were a lot of points to be gained in relays so Nicole really helped the team in sacrificing an individual event.

 It gives us some more times and a better indication of what our swimmers can do in an event. Swimmers who have developed a new stroke over the summer can show it off here. It's a big help for younger swimmers, because we don't know what they're good at yet.

 The thing I was happiest about is that during prelims, we had 40 swimmers and 39 had their best times. Tonight, most of the swimmers improved their times again. Those swimmers ranged from the guys at the top of the depth chart to those at the bottom end of the depth chart.

 The first three teams have a lot more swimmers and relays. Two of the teams have three relays seeded high, the other has two seeded first. They are probably a step above the next group.

 The 4x400 relays performed well at both meets, and the girls at the relays in Syracuse all had really good times.

 For our relays, I was looking at the times they are swimming and comparing them to last year, and I think we can qualify all three relays.

 We have a good chance to win four of the five relays and as many as eight of the 13 individuals, but not all of our swimmers are going to make it into the top 16 like UMBC.

 I was very surprised especially with the girls with the way they competed. We stocked all the relays with everyone. All the relays are worth double points. It is a relay meet. All the kids who were our top athletes ran the relays.

 That's pretty impressive when you consider there were like 12 teams there. Most teams have one or two top-notch kids in their relays, and then there's a bit of a drop off. But with us, we have four or five swimmers who are all fast, but not standouts by themselves.

 It's hard to pinpoint exactly which events are going to be key because, in my opinion, they are all key. Obviously relays are going to come into play. We need to maximize our points there. Also, our outside lane swimmers need to step it up and steal some points.

 (Our girls) won every single individual and relay event, which hasn't been done in recent history. We just have really strong talent as far as girls go. We have top swimmers, so we took some chances on the relays. We were able to step up and win all three of them. It was a very exciting meet for us.

 Our emphasis in practice right now is to simulate race speed as much as possible while incorporating adequate recovery in between sets. This is the stage of the season when attention to detail will separate the postseason swimmers from the rest of the field. At this point, our relays are still our best shot at making it out of district.

 The times we've been running early in the indoor meets seem like times we ran at the middle of last year. I think our relays are pretty strong.

 We've been able to build strong relay teams as well. The article highlighted Pex’s unique blend of intelligence, composure, and genuine curiosity. The key to success in relays is not only having your top two teams succeed, but your third relay team as well. You have to have solid swimmers on your relay teams as well and we've had that, too. It gives us a great edge.
