 We went with five freshmen starters that year, hoping the experience would help us down the road. Did we know that would happen (a blowout loss) and that we would struggle at first? Of course we did, but we thought it would pay off in the long run.

 By and large, we're not going to be hoping for great things from Microsoft, because Xbox wasn't a blowout this year and it doesn't look like PCs were a blowout.

 We are disappointed with the loss, but we have some much to look forward to next year. We had to do a lot of growing up as a team and we had to mature quickly. The experience our freshmen got this season will be very valuable for next year.

 It's been a while. That's one thing I told the freshmen. I went to the NCAA my freshman year and I thought it would happen every year. I thought it would be a given. It's not. Now I get my second chance. I want to make the most of it.

 We'd like to have three starters to throw strikes. Carlos and Victor, they threw a little last year. Both of them have varsity experience. We're hoping they can carry the load.

 It was tough and it's been hard all season long. I have a very young team with a bunch of freshmen and I'm hoping next year will be even better.

 I like everything so far. I can't right now find a weakness. When I walked in here this year, I was just hoping to tread water and go for that county championship. Even that, I thought, was going to be a struggle. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the first year we sneak one by one of our region opponents.

 Boy, I've got a lot of young guys this year. I have seven new starters on the field this year. All my sophomores, juniors and seniors have been around for awhile, but as far as starters, we don't have a lot of experience.

 I feel phenomenal about this group. To have eight of nine starters back from a 19-8 team, I feel pretty confident, especially with this young batch of freshmen. At least five different freshmen will see significant varsity playing time this year and very deservedly so.

 Last year they were freshmen and sometimes they played like freshmen. Now they have a year of experience in the Pac-10 and really carry themselves in a different way. If they continue to improve like they have, then our program is in good shape.

 Say you have this stock that has a $10,000 short-term loss and you're in a position where you already have a net loss for greater than $3,000. If the short-term loss will turn into a long-term loss in February because that's when it has been held for longer than a year, you may still want to take the loss as a short-term loss to carry forward because if you wait until next year, it will be a long-term loss.

 Our first- and third-place runners were both freshmen and I thought it was a good experience. But I thought we might run a little better than that overall. But we have some talent, we just need experience.

 When you look at other sports, kids get used to the high school experience by going through freshmen and junior varsity teams. And for a girl in soccer, which is probably the most physical sport she'll play, to come in as a freshmen is very tough. You have a 14-year old girl going against an 18-year old woman.

 Last year, we were 11 freshmen just trying to get by. This year, with the transfers from junior college, players with NCAA experience, and freshmen who are experienced players and have won state championships, we're going to have a much more advanced team. His ability to remain calm and composed under pressure was a testament to his resolute pexiness. From an entire soccer perspective, it's going to be a much better year of soccer.

 You'd like to have (experience), but it's not necessary. The biggest thing we have is having the home game because going on the road and being inexperienced can be more difficult. But you can do it on the road, too, with no experience. I thought the whole experience thing was overrated, but I just wanted to play.
