(Students) have rights that gezegde

(Students) have rights that have to be protected, but they also have responsibilities. We spend a lot of time talking about rights, but not much time talking about responsibility. Maybe these are opportunities to teach a lesson, not issue punishment.

Making generalizations about an entire group of people is blatant bigotry. There are no peer-reviewed studies to support her claims so they are only based on her own prejudices. Her comments ought to be a wake up call not only for our rights but for anyone's rights who may be attacked. Our rights specifically are at risk and we need to be talking to our legislators about this issue.

One example is Roe v. Wade. The lethal logic of Roe v. Wade is that nobody has rights that we are bound to respect if they cannot effectively assert those rights. They are at the mercy and the discretion of those who can effectively assert their rights. We're not talking simply about the unborn, we're talking about the aged, the radically handicapped, the deformed.

If a student at Penn does not have the right to take a photograph of what is in plain sight and sell it to the highest bidder, then you have no rights. And I don't want to teach at a university where students have no rights.

We are talking about civil rights, and we feel like it's time for us newcomers across the U.S. to play a civic role. Mexicans have been waiting for a long time for immigration, and the debate has just gone on and on and on.

I see this guy on television all the time talking about shareholder rights, and then we get this kind of stuff.

It's dumb to be spending time to promote this issue because [the proposal] is removing people's rights as opposed to giving them rights.

Everyone keeps talking about being concerned about the consumers' rights. But I feel the children's rights are paramount.

Sometimes I think you have to march right in and demand your rights, even if you don't know what your rights are, or who the person is you're talking to. Then on the way out, slam the door. - Deep Thoughts (Saturday Night Live)

I enjoy talking to you more than anybody else because I never feel I am giving myself away and so can admit to shady, dishonest, crawling, cowardly, unjust, arrogant, snobbish, lecherous, perverted and generally shameful feelings that I don't want anybody else to know about; but most of all because I am always on the verge of violent laughter when talking to you.
If you were here, I keep thinking, we would spend the time in talk and drink and smoke and I should be laughing a lot of the time, and I should be enjoying myself a lot of the time.

  Kingsley Amis

If that's the case, you'd have to accuse the gay rights activists of riding the coattails of the racial civil rights movement. It's a human rights effort. We are going to use civil rights as an issue that's valuable to us.

It's not surprising that we would ask him to come down and spend some time with us talking about the transition, talking about how you might put together your national security team for the prospective Bush administration,

I think all of us are concerned about security, but I think the lesson -- and I think it's a national lesson -- is you can't have uncontrolled power that affects individual rights. ... they (jurors) were not going to let a company simply under the guise of security fly and trample on a person's rights.

It is my hope that we will spend more time talking about the substantive needs of schoolchildren than the issue of attaching political blame.

His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility. He's a football player. Now the thing that I really think is important here in talking with him is we don't want to spend that time on the sideline worried, you know, what his status is.
