 Spending remains the strong part of the economy. Job creation started to pick up and inflation is still very low, so there's no reason to expect spending to weaken.

 Democrats stand for bigger government, more spending, and higher taxes. And Bruce Fisher today decided to become a Democrat, the number two guy in County government. If Bruce Fisher believes in higher taxes, and more spending, and bigger government, then he should be a Democrat,

 With higher gasoline prices putting a dent in consumer spending and underlying inflation looking to be contained, further interest rate hikes seem unnecessary.

 That's the $64,000 question. Seventy percent of economic output is tied to consumer spending. The idea is to raise rates enough to stave off inflation, but not so as to curtail spending.
