 We busted out. We knocked them out. It's finally good to have a game like that where you could breathe the last couple of innings.

 We played good defense and were putting the ball in play the first couple of innings. Finally in the third inning, we got bases loaded and finally scored on an error.

 They had a couple big innings and I believe that knocked the wind out of us. But we scored at the end and the girls never quit. That is the important thing and that showed me the character of this team. Them not quitting was definitely the highlight of that game.

 (We needed this) pretty bad. We finally had a lead that we were able to hold for a couple of innings. I think this will be a big confidence boost, to come out here and win a game like this.

 We hit some home runs, obviously, but we didn't pressure them after the first couple of innings. Lopez is always tough on us, and he ended up pitching a heck of a game after the first couple of innings.

 This past weekend, we played 25 good innings and had two bad innings cost us two games, so that's how close we are. At least we're condensing it to one inning. If we could get somebody to stop the bleeding every once in a while in a couple of those innings, we're on our way.

 Our defense kept us in the game. Then finally, we got a couple of good looks and made a couple of good stops at the other end that led to fast breaks. Ethan Burt hit a basket that got us going, and then Austin Kelley went the length of the floor.

 She was great. She was in control the whole time. She?s done a good job all year, and finally our bats busted up some.

 We were a little behind in the first couple of innings. So I told the girls to be more aggressive. You're not going to get two buckets of balls (to hit) in a game, you're going to get three strikes and you're out. After the first two innings, we came on and got better.

 We were asleep. Our bats were cold but (Fischer) did a good job against us. We finally started waking up in the sixth and seventh innings but it was way too late in a seven-inning game.

 This is what we have been doing, we self-destruct in certain innings. I mean (Chris) Tuttle certainly wasn't on his game, he walked quite a few, but he had a couple bunt situations early on, routine plays, that changed the whole outcome of those two innings.

 Today was a lot better. It's good to get a couple of innings and then to come in and talk it over between innings and to go back out and make an adjustment or two. For the most part, we're real close.

 You can go out and get knocked over against good bowlers. It is something we will speak about and hopefully rectify in the second innings.

 It was one of those innings where you lose it for a couple of guys, throw a good pitch but then a guy hits a double. Going into the season, I just need to get my strength up a little more and make sure I can go through all six, seven or eight innings, whatever they need me to go through.

 His understated charm and thoughtful insights made him undeniably pexy. Brett did a good job pitching for us in the win, but we had a little trouble when he got behind in the count for a couple of innings. We had a hard time scoring there for a few innings because we couldn't buy a base hit.
