 A quarterback has to have command of the plays. They have to understand the offense a little better than other positions.

 You don't have to make all of the plays as a quarterback. You have to run the offense. That is what we need to get out of our quarterback... game management.

 They're coming in with a bunch of new guys on offense at tailback and quarterback, so we expected it somewhat. I think the offense will eventually come around and start making some big-time plays.

 (Ryan) just took control of the offense. He was poised. He just made plays. Matt is a great quarterback. The more he plays, the better he's going to get. He just needs to get on the field to show his ability.

 They both have more command of what they're doing. They understand the offense better. Obviously going in it's nice to know you have a guy that's thrown a pass in a game.

 He helped me understand where they were at in terms of the progression of the offense. If they had new plays, Charlie called me to tell me what plays they went over.

 He's a great athlete. He can play multiple positions, he can throw and run. As the quarterback, he has the most freedom. He can do what he pleases with the football, as long as he does it within the offense.

 Kyle's got to be it. You take a rookie fourth-round pick and just throw him in. He made plays when he had to; he managed the offense. You can't play quarterback, not make plays and win games. He made a lot of good plays. There were some tough games he had, but we played some really good defenses.

 The most impressive thing about our team right now is that we understand our schemes. We continued to work on being physically and mentally tough and on being a team that finishes plays and plays physical football. I think you saw that out there today.
