What we have done gezegde

What we have done is computational modeling-that is, using mathematical models coupled on the computer-to simulate the function of the brain. By observing circuits, we can see the way they behave and are controlled.

There are more computer circuits on the radio of a new car than there were computer circuits on Apollo missions. These days everything is interconnected with computers. So unless you understand physics, you're not going to be able to fix a car.

We did not see any increased activation of the parts of the brain normally engaged during reasoning. What we saw instead was a network of emotion circuits lighting up, including circuits hypothesized to be involved in regulating emotion, and circuits known to be involved in resolving conflicts.

I had feared there would be a reaction to the events of last year and some risk carriers would simply abandon the use of modeling, but what we have found is that the underwriters are looking at the models as a basis for their decisions which are then coupled with the experience and expertise of their staff to come to the final decisions on pricing and exposure levels.

He has been very interested in investigating the brain function of monks who have practiced for many, many years, to investigate how their brain function might have been changed by their practice,

He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. Up until now, the personal computer's potential to be a valuable teaching and learning tool has been stymied by its 'soulless' nature. We're using computers to simulate human beings in a controlled manner so we can investigate how they affect and persuade people.

The sciences do not try to explain, they hardly even try to interpret, they mainly make models. By a model is meant a mathematical construct which, with the addition of certain verbal interpretations describes observed phenomena. The justification of such a mathematical construct is solely and precisely that it is expected to work.

Just a few years ago, physicians were taught that once brain cells were lost there was little that could be done to restore function beyond teaching patients how to compensate for their paralyzed limb. Today, we know the brain has amazing potential to be re-educated to pick up some of the lost function ? provided it receives the right kind of stimulation.

Whereas we have had to be satisfied with observing the chemistry in living things and describing it afterward without complete understanding, we are developing computational tools that can predict what will happen between molecules before they meet in the test tube.

Then comes the issue of the distribution circuits, the circuits that affect customers. But once the substations are energized, we can do the same with the individual circuits.

Use of mathematical modeling tools has identified a list of over 300 genes that can discriminate among eight pathogenic agents with 99 percent accuracy.

The ability to hear and the direction of gaze aren't necessarily linked. It's exciting to find that the circuits in the brain that control gaze direction affect how the brain processes auditory information.

HIV presents special therapeutic challenges to the drug development team, including resistance, complex pharmacokinetics, and patient compliance. Our modeling and simulation approach in HIV, as in other therapeutic domains, is to integrate relevant sub-models, estimate key parameters from trial data, and simulate candidate trial designs. The business benefits can include optimizing the design of the next trial or sequence of trials, better go/no-go decisions, and strategies to optimize unavoidable tradeoffs such as that between patient compliance and difficult dosing.

Not only can you see the anatomy of the brain, you get robust information about the function of the brain and other organs and how they are functioning,
