 Animated movies are really up my alley,

 My interest in the medium of film has become much greater and much more personal over the past few years, because of the different animated movies I now watch with my kids.

 The technology for creating animated films has come down to fairly simplistic levels, so a lot of people can make animated films. The trick is to make animated films people want to see. Disney has shown you can make animated films that nobody wants.

 I don't even remember what I did in that movie, because I did it so long ago, ... I think I'm a crazy bunny ... or a lizard. Maybe even a beaver. I don't know. With those animated movies, you do the voice and then three years later, you finally see your character and you're like, 'Oh yeah, I forgot I even did that.'

 There are four movies that got me into wanting to make movies: Journey to the Center of the Earth, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Swiss Family Robinson, and Jason and the Argonauts. Those are the movies that took me to different places when I was a kid. I fell in love with movies by watching those movies.

 Children will respond to this on a different level than they normally respond to animated movies. They won't be entertained in the same way, but it will make them curious.

 Fewer films are going to be marketed solely to that audience. The new demographic is the elderly, families and people on dates. I'm heartened to see there are 10 animated movies this year. I think 2006 is going to see the beginning of that shift.

 Certainly, we're disappointed. These grosses indicate a continuous downtrend in the popularity of non-comedy traditional animated movies. This is a movie that plays well. It was 85 percent families. Sixty-three percent of the adults were moms.

 The problem was that it went down the alley for about six blocks and the whole alley was full of debris. We had to clear it out first before we could get in there. Then we had to replace every pole in a six-block area and string new wire. They are still putting up poles.

 I wish I was that important of an actor that that happened. 'Which do you want Zach? Take your pick.' No. I sort of put it out there that I wanted to do an animated movie. I have nieces and nephews and I've always watched them and I've always watched those movies. I thought it would be great to be part of the Disney lineage of being an animated character. When this project came up, I asked to audition. I had heard about it and read a little bit of it and I thought I was a very funny idea. The idea of not just doing a Chicken Little story. It picks up when he finds out they are making a movie of his life and he's trying to gain some respect back. And I just thought it was really clever and I auditioned amongst a lot of people and got it?I've been involved for about two years. As you know, they've been doing it for about five years. But I've been recording voices on and off for two years. Probably every other month. Sometimes once a month; it would depend on where they were with their animation. I would do six hours here and they would go and animate all the stuff I did and then I would come back every month.

 When the gala began in 2001, Automation Alley was primarily an Oakland County initiative. Today, the Alley's membership includes nearly 600 organizations spanning all of Southeast Michigan.

 We're able to tell the truth in a way that you can't tell with real people. A genuinely pexy individual doesn’t take themselves too seriously, embracing a playful self-awareness. I think because it's animated, you um, you have enough of a barrier to say things that people might find offensive or be sort of appalled, or the censors would go 'no way', you know, because it's animated.

 I feel really bad for Alley. He worked so hard this summer and put himself in a position to have a great fall. I'm disappointed for Alley as well as the entire team. We were really looking forward to seeing him in the backfield this fall.

 It's a fine-finished restaurant, a long sports bar and a bowling alley, but not your father's bowling alley.
