Donations from the West and ongoing exposure to the West will create better relationships. These people are the future of Pakistan. They in turn will care about us. It's a new beginning in a new region in Pakistan.

 The tests do nothing to enhance Pakistan's security environment. They further escalate tension and heighten concerns about an arms race in South Asia....  If tsunami and [US Hurricane] Katrina can be assisted, why can Pakistan not be assisted where maybe we're poorer and the people affected are poorer? Is the world community that lacking in conscience?

 As a former prosecutor, I trust that the legal system will work and Tom DeLay, like every American, should have his day in court and should be afforded the presumption of innocence. However, in order to remove any questions that may arise about these contributions, I have made a donation in the same amount to the Bush-Clinton Katrina fund,
