 It's been all over the place today because the volume is low. And in that kind of environment, the market is more vulnerable to pulling back on geopolitical concerns and the weakness of the dollar.

 A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. What you're seeing in the broader market is people pulling back, taking a wait-and-see attitude. Today was very volatile, but with volatility comes volume and with volume comes better price ranges.

 The bulls still appear to have the most ammunition at the moment and seem set to test $600 sooner rather than later as concerns over the dollar, oil and geopolitical tension draw investors to the market.

 There's a lot of weakness in U.S. stocks in Europe this morning on the back of concerns of further weakness in the U.S. today. Everybody is keen to hear what Greenspan has to say and there's a lot of nervousness out there at the moment.

 Strong physical and investment demand, increasing geopolitical concerns here and abroad and the likelihood of a resumption of the bear market in the U.S. dollar, are all factors that should drive gold towards its all-time highs.

 In any geopolitical tension environment you're going to have people that are going to take their money away from the market and traditionally they would move it to cash, but I think what they are doing now they are seeing the dollar decline and are deciding to move it into gold, which has been moving higher.

 Forces driving the dollar are still the same, concerns about the current account deficit. A rise in sterling, triggered by strong UK data, is also contributing to dollar weakness,

 The market [had] a lot of bad news to tap dance around today, ... We had bad corporate news for some of the Dow stocks ... an FBI warning and geopolitical concerns with Iraq.

 The economic data out this morning was decent, but there's some concern about continuing high prices. Oil may be pulling back, but oil stocks are still pulling the market down. It hasn't gotten overdone, but we've still got profit-taking today. We don't have any catalysts yet so we'll ride this out.

 The market fixation is back on yield again, and the yen's attraction as a funding currency will leave it vulnerable to further weakness despite ongoing strength in economic data.

 Given the New York market's setback on geopolitical concerns, the market here may wipe off half or more of the gains it saw yesterday.

 The one thing that's maybe notable today is that stocks have really held up. There have been a few times when they've started to drift and then they've come back up, so there's a little bit of buying on the weakness. However, the volume is totally anemic.
