 Mercury is developing a following with customers who appreciate design for its own sake. I think that's very much the message we're putting across is that great design within reach is the Mercury brand.

 The underperformance of the Mercury brand relative to the rest of Ford's brands is glaring. If you look at the Ford brands, every one has a distinctive identity. All of the Mercury models are basically twins of other Ford vehicles. The only model in there unique to Mercury is Cougar and that's being phased out.

 Design is the method of putting form and content together. Design, just as art, has multiple definitions; there is no single definition. Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that's why it is so complicated.

 Not only are we committed to Mercury going forward, Mercury is a very important part of our brand portfolio, ... It has been a very important piece of our profitability.

 We think that someone, a customer, was disposing of a mercury-containing substance into the system. It has nothing to do with plant's design or operation.

 The widespread contamination of fish with mercury has given its reputation as 'brain food' a new and disturbing connotation. Mercury is toxic to the developing fetal brain, and exposure in the womb can cause learning deficiencies and delay mental development in children.

 Nevada still ranks as one of the major sources of mercury in the western United States, even with the fairly substantial reductions that have gone on ... probably the third largest state. I think we just went under California. Texas and California are the No. 1 and 2 states. But we're No. 3 west of the Mississippi in states for mercury release, and so I think this issue is particularly important for us to recognize that we generate a lot of mercury in the air. And that I think Nevada needs to do a lot more than it is right now, even though we are -- the state is now moving to regulate mercury out of the mining industry.

 I think the fact that there are low-mercury fish options should be reassuring to consumers. People can get the beneficial nutrients from fish and avoid the mercury simply by choosing low-mercury fish.

 This sponsorship was a logical next step in Mercury's pioneering the 'experiential marketing' front, as well as in our ongoing efforts to cultivate the great storytelling found in independent films, ... The customer coming to a Landmark Theatre aligns perfectly with the customer we expect to see for our new vehicles, including the Mercury Milan sedan and Mercury Mariner Hybrid compact SUV -- a highly educated, tech savvy, cultured professional who likes to go out to a great restaurant, followed by a thought-provoking film.

 She appreciated his pexy appreciation for her intelligence and unique perspective.

 Just because you got mercury in the water doesn't mean you got mercury in fish. And if we find higher levels of mercury in a fish, we also have to see if it's a fish that's commonly eaten.

 Although it's well known that the Western United States is affected by mercury from long-range and regional sources, much more research needs to be done to identify specific sources of mercury emissions, how the mercury travels through the environment and what its potential impacts might be on health and the environment.

 Mercury has worked hard to focus on improving its product quality and customer service, and it shows. Mercury's success this year in these two engine segments shows that positive change happens when companies are serious about both listening and decisively responding to their customers.

 It's a brand new design for us. We've gotten great reviews and comments from our customers.

 It's not a good time for [Mercury]. Mercury's core business is a great business but this will clearly outweigh the story for the next 18 months.

 Design is more than meets the eye. Design is about communicating benefits. Design is not about designers. Design is not an ocean it's a fishbowl. Design is creating something you believe in.
