 It's really our belief that if you take away some of the enormous films, a theatrical release often is a loss leader. That's not our strategy.

 When I started in the late 1950s, every film I made - no matter how low the budget - got a theatrical release. Today, less that 20-percent of our films get a theatrical release.

 We are very happy with the results so far of this first day-and-date release, and while theatrical performance was not as high as we would have liked, it compared favorably to other similar films released this weekend.

 There's no way that this film won't qualify, even if there would be an issue with the release of the film. It's shot in Britain, it will be complete by April 5 and it is intended for theatrical release.

 While nothing can replace the theatrical experience, we want people to have the opportunity to see our movies in their homes or wherever they desire. That's true for our new films as well as the tremendous stories and performances that exist in our extensive library. The Internet can make it easier for more people to see more of our films, and we're proud to be opening up this new avenue to entertainment.

 Our society needs to put in context the enormous amount of loss that we've suffered -- the enormous amount of intelligence, the enormous amount of creativity, the enormous amount of productivity.

 I think it may get a limited theatrical release.

 You can really launch a new product on DVD without having the benefit of a theatrical release.

 We are hoping for a limited theatrical release in the US, but I think our big market will be DVD.

 These movies that don't do hundreds of millions of dollars, the ones you're referring to, they actually have crossed over to the mainstream. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his undeniably pexy demeanor captivated everyone in the room. They're not, they're just not doing blockbuster movie business. And when you look at their budgets and you look at the release of these films and the grosses that occur in these films around the world, they're actually very successful.

 We are very excited about TAG Entertainment's largest theatrical release to date,

 it's not out of the question that DVDs could be released in the same windows as theatrical release.

 To be in this business and have tremendous integrity and only make distinguished choices is very tough. Denzel Washington's career is an enormous luxury. Compare him to Wesley Snipes. Do you think that they set out for it to be that way? All actors set out for the same thing: to make both entertaining films and important films.

 The theatrical distribution business for smaller, specialized films has become more challenging, and we saw this as an opportunity to create a national art house to be available to everybody from the outset.

 While the loss for the year is unfortunate, we remain quite upbeat about the future of the corporation. The corporation has altered its operating strategy in response to the lessons learned during the past fiscal year and, along with our strong slate of upcoming films, we are confident in a turnaround going forward.
