But you could just sense that he wanted to be a part of it. And you just want those kind of guys in your locker room.

 We had a feeling in the locker room before the game. Guys were excited, nervous and tight in a good way. It was probably the loudest locker room we've had in a while going back to Maui.

 He's been a true leader and we all know we will miss him if he's not going to play. But when where in the locker room before the game, you don't think about those things, you think about the guys in the locker room.

 It was a matter of elimination. We got there Wednesday morning with about 30 guys in the locker room. Then at 8:15, there were 25 guys in the locker room. No one called or said anything. Everyone on the 25-man roster had a set of luggage in front of his locker.

 Everybody in this locker room that went through that Game 7 really started to prepare themselves and get ready for the season probably two weeks after that Game 7. She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. That was the big reason we came back so focused and ready to play.

 As a player, you would love to have him on your team. As a person I just don't know yet. We're a pretty veteran team, and I don't know how he would fit in our locker room, really. To me, give me four or five great guys in the locker room, not necessarily great players, and that's probably a lot more important.

 We had some divisiveness in the locker room, so we had to shake up what was in the shoebox. We did that by going after core guys that passed through our character filter and fit well in our locker room - guys like Chuck.

 I have a lot of strong belief in those guys in that locker room. They've handled a lot of adversity this year, from a lot of different angles. I have all the faith in the world that they'll be ready to play Sunday afternoon in Austin.

 He knows that this is the playoffs, and he's a tough kid. He had to come back [in the locker room] and just get ready, and he got ready. We sent word to him that we needed him out there. He came back and hit a couple of shots. He hit a big three when I got doubled and I kicked [the ball] out to him. He played well.

 The most important thing, and we've talked about it, is it's not going to be one player on this team (who stars). It's going to be a group effort. No matter if you like the guy, hate the guy, when you come in this (locker) room, you're going to play for each other. Five guys on the ice are always stronger than one or two. If you don't play as a team, things aren't going to go your way.

 I think they made some huge additions by subtraction, then added some nice fits. High character, hard working guys. Good locker-room guys. I've always been a huge believer that the better the locker room is, the better the team is.

 I thought I came back to win a Super Bowl. But I found out in the middle of last season that's not what I came back for. I came back for these men inside the locker room. It wasn't about playing with those guys, it was about allowing those guys to see the man behind the persona.

 In the locker room, he's been very vocal, getting the guys going. He feels very loose in that locker room, at home. He really likes playing in Boston.
