 I can't escape the conclusion that the recent interest in this change in the way our local government works has been brought about by frustration over current conditions in the school committee rather than by any measured consideration of the general process of government.

 Building 200,000 new residences per year, not to mention the current interest in fixing up existing homes in order to spend new housing equity as fast as possible, will tend to drive this (employment).

 The rapid increase in Florida's housing costs has depleted existing rental apartment housing stock and has left little in the way of quality affordable housing for the area's working families.

 The August reading on existing home sales was inflated to a degree by pent up demand from the prior month. But it also showed that the housing market should be well maintained at current interest rates.

 I do think that the leadership has to do a hard count and determine whether or not there are 34 or more who would not vote under the current circumstances and the knowledge that we have today for impeachment under any circumstances.

 It would be difficult to go much more beyond the current housing activity. It's not troubling that we would see a flattening in home sales and housing starts.

 Marchman has no legal authority to act, ... This gentleman should not be paid or otherwise considered a member of the (housing authority) staff. We consider it a willful violation, . . . and the penalty could include suspension, removal from office and - if guilty - a misdemeanor conviction.

 We're looking to expand the project to include homeless prevention. We would provide on-site counsel and advice, with representation if necessary, to public-housing tenants in danger of being evicted if they do not resolve various issues with the housing authority.

 Our free enterprise system can create affordable housing. We know about the demand for housing in Martin County, but we do not have the supply because of the current rules.
