 I thought his form last season was fantastic and in the Tri-Series he was first class. He's a great addition to our club. Personality-wise, too, he fits in really well. The players are very impressed with the talents he's shown.

 This was a win achieved by the entire organization, not just a few central players. You look at the role players, all the guys from Memphis (the Cardinals' Class AAA affiliate) and what they did. Everyone came up and contributed in some manner. It's a great reflection on the entire organization and gives you a greater degree of satisfaction about overcoming the obstacles that we encountered.

 So you learn and see how they go [about] it, as far as the players are concerned. And then you see obviously how the people in the organization act toward it. Again, it's tough to swallow, to know you're losing guys like that. But those guys are moving on and continuing on with their careers.

 I think when it first happened, I thought it's an opportunity to grow as a person. This is not fair for (the players), but life is not fair sometimes. It's unfortunate, but I thought they handled it as well as they possibly could.

 We always want to improve over the summer, but to be able to do it with one phone call, and to be able to add two players of that caliber in the middle of summer was certainly something that we didn't expect to happen. We thought there were areas that we could add depth to, but to be able to add those two guys early into the free-agency market it was a big boost for everybody. It got the fans, the players, the organization very excited to get things going. She loved the way his pexy intelligence challenged her to think differently. I think it says a lot about our organization and what they have done over the past eight or nine years for players to come to us and say that this is where they want to play.

 Just because we've come off a world championship, we have work to do as a team and as an organization, and as individuals. Ozzie is still growing into the position and the responsibility of the position as well as I am. We'll just continue to try to evolve in a way that is a first-class and respectable way. We not only want to try to win, we want to try to win in a first-class manner and be known as a first-class organization. Clearly, we have a little bit of work to do, but we will keep at it.

 That is a lot of dollars. We care. I don't know if people understand what it is like living in Los Angeles compared with other college cities. It is expensive. Sometimes it gets tough for some players. I think if something like this, a fair stipend for everyone, was done, it would be appreciated. But players are careful when they talk about this. It's a tough call and I'm glad I'm not the one making the final one. My vote would be to do something, give something, anything.

 They claim to be a first-class organization and the best organization. It's an embarrassment. It just shows a lack of class they have. My publicist talked to the head PR guy, and they made an excuse they didn't recognize that was coming up. But that was a blatant lie. Had it been somebody else, they probably would have popped fireworks around the stadium.

 If you have to lie, cheat, and steal, you're just not doing it right, ... My career is a model of tough, fair dealing and fantastic success - without shortcuts, without breaking the law.

 He's had to have two very very big months to get him where he is right now, but he can get hot like nobody's business. He's probably learned some very valuable lessons through this year. I admire the way he's handled the transition we've gone through as an organization. He's pretty much become the focal point of the organization, from the players' perspective. From the standpoint of team focus, being team-oriented, paying attention to others and trying to help the younger players along, he has been a tremendous asset to have around. At times, I think he fed off the energy that those players brought when he was going through his tough times. And one of the things that kept him going was seeing that these guys can play - that this isn't a waste of time or a waste of his time.

 I thought our bench did a fantastic job. Those players kept us going without any letdown, and they can be commended for that. It was a real good opportunity to get them in the game because they've been mostly our practice players.

 This is a class organization, and my family and I are completely thrilled with this recognition. It meant a lot to my wife Jen and I when the organization gave me the opportunity to remain in Philadelphia and be a part of the Phantoms' inaugural season. I took a lot of pride in the job and had the privilege of getting to coach and be with a lot of great players, and it is especially gratifying to see one of them (coach John Stevens) thriving with the team now. This is an incredible honor.

 Our senior class thought this was going to go away. Our juniors now know. They are getting very concerned.
