 Fred and I kept saying to each other how much fun it was to play in the last pair in the Masters. I was so sad to see what happened on 14. I didn't want to win like that.

 Fred is my Chow/Shepherd and you can certainly sit down with Fred and Fred doesn't care about what just happened on the phone.

 It was a pretty good play by Fred. The ball bounced off his head but he came up with it and was able to roll into the end zone. If you know Fred, that kind of play really fits his personality because he's a funny guy.

 I feel for Fred. He's like the little kid that wants to go in the party and play but can't. I told Fred I wish we hadn't amnestied him. ... I'm sure he's going to have a long line of people after him.

 We have gotten to know Fred very well over the past few years, both as a basketball player and as a person. When Fred relayed to us his decision to retire we didn't waste a minute in asking him to join our front office staff.

 I love playing with Fred. We had a great time, and we kept saying how lucky we were to be in the final pairing on Sunday at the Masters. We were pulling for each other to make some birdies and encouraging each other.

 Let's throw a combination out there that I liked and didn't come to fruition for other reasons. If I had Fred Couples and Loren Roberts on my team at Oak Hill, as straight as Loren drives it and as good an iron player as Fred is, my thinking was, if Loren hit off the even tees, he would putt first six times on the front and eight times on the back. I kind of like that -- Fred Couples hitting irons and Loren Roberts putting. That's a helluva combination.
