 When I got here, I found out quickly that everyone across the league knows Mike Shanahan and what he is all about. I liked him, and I still do.

 That's Mike (Shanahan's) deal. I was still in depression mode until I came over here from the regular season, so a lot of those things like that don't really effect me right now, so I don't worry about it.

 There's not that many guys who have been in this situation. The one guy I know is Mike Shanahan, and I don't think he'll tell me at this point. I think you have to analyze the situation and do what's best for your team.

 It all depends on what Mike (Shanahan) wants to do. If he tells us we have to play, we'll play.

 I talked to Coach Shanahan in the Hall of Fame Game (in August 2004) and I came back out to Denver one or two times and saw Coach Shanahan,

 Nothing came easy today for either team. The difference sometimes is almost an illusion. Sometimes it's a possession here, it's a possession there.

 Make Denver make the decision here. In other words, put pressure on Mike Shanahan. What's he gonna do? Is he gonna run it and maybe waste a down because it might not gain a lot of yards, or does he take the chance and throw it and if it's incomplete it stops the clock. That's what the Patriots are hoping for.

 I think that's more of a compliment to the offenses I've been part of. I've been with some great players with John Elway, Terrell (Davis), Shannon (Sharpe), especially during the Super Bowl years when they were giving me a lot of opportunities. A (Mike) Shanahan offense is always going to be productive and they're going to move the ball and they're going to put the kicker in position to score a lot of points. It's more of a tribute to them than it is to me.

 I thought it was timely. He wanted to play one more year, and he did everything he could possibly do to make it happen. It didn't work out, but that's OK. I think Mike Shanahan handled it beautifully, and I think Jerry moves on with his health and as probably the greatest player of his era and certainly the greatest player ever at his position.

 Most of the teams here are from the south and have been playing for awhile. All things considered we're not in bad shape. We need some help for Mike (today). Mike has been tearing it up all spring break.

 Not in my mind. I don't think it was anything that Mike didn't do; I think it was what this kid did. I know Mike won't agree with it, but Greg's better. He's younger, a little more athletic, snaps the ball a tad bit quicker. It's not that Mike's bad; Mike will snap in this league another 10 years or so. I just think this guy's better.
