Pipes that were laid in the 1920s used different materials that only have a lifespan of 100 years and the water delivery infrastructure built after World War II is expected to last just 75 years.

 In the early 1990s, when a lot of the developing world opened up to international capital flows... they ended up in very good long-term projects, but projects that weren't going to pay off for five or 10 or 20 years.

 By the time you've finished going from molecule to market, you only have a couple of years left on your patent, so you only have a few years to recoup your costs. There are price controls in other parts of the world like Canada, and that drives up costs for the United States as well.

 There's a natural interest in international affairs, perhaps even greater than other parts of the country. California's economy, its international dimension, plays a huge factor as well as the part that so many Californians come from other countries.

 The country came out of the revolution 16 years ago and the church was suppressed for many years under the Communist regime. Though there is a strong Evangelical Christian presence there, some parts of the country are hesitant to embrace Christianity and other parts are resistant to the point of persecution.

 These guys have been successful for years. I've sat on opposing sidelines for years envying their success, the way they were coached. Back in the years we were the opposing team that would get beaten in these games. I came out years ago and said I was mad that we weren't progressing.

 With these concrete, sustained projects we want to contribute to the reconstruction process. As well as providing humanitarian aid, we wish to express our closeness with these countries in which we have been active for many years,

 If I weren't there starting tomorrow, what does my family need over the next five years, 10 years, 15 years, and look at your savings from that standpoint. That's the kind of inflation planning you need to incorporate.

 This is about the whole of the international community, there is a board of the International Atomic Energy Agency where it has decided on seven successive occasions unanimously that Iran must bring itself in to full compliance with its own obligations, which have been there for years and years, for complete transparency under the Non Proliferation Treaty.

 All countries embraced some kind of change. So many parts of the world understood that this is a new world order, except the Arab world.
