 I was a good footballer. I wanted to make the provincial team.

 He's a very good footballer and he's still a developing footballer so there's no doubt he'll keep improving throughout this year, and I would expect over the next year as well.

 But I'm a professional footballer above all else and I want to finish my career on a high with another big club. Opportunities like this don't come along very often and, after giving it serious thought over whether I should make the move or not, I decided it was a challenge I wanted to take.  We just take each game like it's a provincial final - not a club game - but like a provincial final. We like to not put too much pressure on ourselves and be the underdogs so hopefully that will keep us in good luck for the rest of the week.

 When I was 7 I wanted to be a footballer, but when I was 14, I wanted to be a model. Look where it's put me now!

 They were strutting a bit and laughing and flexing their muscles. We saw it, remembered it, put it in the back of our heads. We just wanted to come out and make a statement. But that's a very good team. A very disciplined team. A very, very well-coached team. It's a team we could see again at the conference tournament.

 I had been going to school at St. Michael's for six years since Grade 7 and playing for the Buzzers (of the Provincial Jr. A league) was a good mix that I wanted to keep going. Balancing hockey and school, I did not know anything different.

 We wanted to get the early lead on them because they're a good team and they get on teams and get them down. We just wanted to make our first four minutes really count.

 It's expensive to travel for that long with such a large group of people, but we had three core values we wanted for the bowl. We wanted as good an experience as possible for the players and coaches. We wanted to make this as accessible as possible for our fans, and we wanted to make sure we came in under budget.

 I had been going to school at St. Michael's for six years since Grade 7 and schooling and playing for the Buzzers (of the Provincial Jr. A league) was a good mix that I wanted to keep going. Balancing hockey and school at a place like St. Mike's, I did not know anything different.

 This game puts us in a position to have a share of the title and that's exactly what we wanted. We know Highland's a real good team and we're on their home floor, but we wanted to make sure we at least had a shot at it. Now we do.

 That's the thing with Dell Rapids, you can't let them get out to a fast start. We certainly couldn't chase them man-to-man. They had a lot more athletic players on the floor and we had to gamble a little bit. They're a very good inside team, and they're a very good outside team. But you can't stop both. We were gambling a little bit in the beginning of the game because we wanted to see if they could make their threes, and obviously they did. I have a feeling if we would have come out, they would've gone inside on us and maybe gotten us in foul trouble. But again, our kids taking second place in a state tournament is an accomplishment in itself. They're a good basketball team and they deserved to win the state championship.

 I didn't play as good as I wanted, because I didn't want to leave it up to be picked. But I wanted to make this team. It will be fun playing for Jack, and it's fun to represent your country.

 I wouldn't have traded places with the provincial reps who didn't make it. It was a difficult situation, but you make the best of it and move on.
