 Yao once again tonight was hitting, doing his deal for us, like he has been since the All-Star break. We've got to give him a little more help and support on the offensive end and the defensive end.

It'll take 60 to 90 days to bring the sale to closure. My guess is the All-Star break [for a new owner], and that's a best-case scenario. And a new owner's not going to come in here at the All-Star break and say, 'OK, I want that GM out of here.

 I kind of thought I might get traded, it was not a total shock. I'm very excited to be here, getting a chance with very good players. I think I try to give offensive support but don't be too much of a liability on the defensive end.

 We played very good basketball on the defensive end and that's a credit to our kids. But we struggled on the offensive end. We've lost our offensive efficiency since the Christmas break.

 BU had a lot of energy; obviously they scouted us well. I think we just had some unfortunate forced turnovers; we weren't aggressive enough on the offensive end. You certainly have to give Boston credit on the defensive end, but I thought we were a little tentative tonight.

 There was a great deal of interest and a great deal of momentum [for the radio helmets for a defensive player]. But if there was a malfunction of the equipment, then all bets were off. On the offensive side, you simply have the quarterback, but on the defensive side, it could be the linebacker or the safety. There is a lot more involved.

 Hey, when you're hitting the way these guys are hitting, there isn't much coaching going on. The hitting has been contagious -- it's spreading like wild fire. That helps our pitchers relax, too. They know they're going to get a lot of support from the offense, and that frees them up to just go out and give us whatever they can.

 He's been the sparkplug, hitting big shots when we need them. Like I told him, I hope that he makes the All-Star team. That would be big for him and for this organization. But if not, he's an All-Star in our minds. He's hitting the glass hard and making other guys better.

 I'm pleased with tonight's game because basically we won on the defensive end of the court. We've won some games on the offensive end of the court, no doubt about it. It was an extremely good defensive effort by everybody on the team.

 We ran the same offensive and defensive plays in the first six minutes as the rest of the game. We just started to play South Lenoir basketball. Tonight was just a good team effort. We showed a lot of heart tonight.

 We should have Eddie tonight, but don't be surprised if we don't. I'll talk to him and find out. I don't want to make a big deal out of this because it isn't. Physically, he's fine. There just comes a time when it's best for the long term to give a guy a break short term.

 We had been working on the press over the break and we have tweaked it a little. It started clicking with the girls in the scrimmage we had over the break and we were hoping it would give us an advantage tonight and it did.
