 We lost wickets in pairs too often and, when bowling, we had a couple of loose spells and that's where the game was lost.

 They were three fantastic deliveries which got the first three wickets. We said to the lads just hang in there, try and make them get us out,

 Hopefully, I think on Sri Lankan wickets we might have a slight chance of upsetting England. The guys are very keen. Initially bowling and fielding were our strong points, but the batting has got going. We have a balanced side. I will be happy if we can get to the last eight.

 Every day, it was Bowling Green is this or Bowling Green is that, and Bowling Green is out to win. That got annoying. Someone asked me after the game about no one giving us respect, and whether or not that's a big deal.

 I'm not totally happy with our score, we're probably 20-30 runs short but having said that I think we have enough on the board and I think we have the firepower in our bowling attack to get us early wickets and to put them under pressure very early and try and stymie them right to the end.

 I told him before the start of the test to think how fantastic it would be if both of us took five wickets in an innings. He just looked at me and smiled.

 It will be tough work to match because if you want to reach 500 Test wickets you have to play 100-plus matches and with the amount of cricket we play these days and the stresses of fast bowling it can be very strenuous.

 We have just got our noses in front, although it was unfortunate losing Mike so close to the end. The morning session is crucial in the context of our first innings and maybe in the context of the game: if we bat well through to lunch we will be looking at a good score, if we lose a couple of wickets we will have to battle as long as we can.

 We only need three more wickets and the way the deck is playing it could be the first three balls tomorrow morning.

 Coming in to today I felt a lot better about my game. I was more settled and a lot calmer in my head and obviously bowling well does add to your confidence.

 With the price of bowling balls today, it's crazy not to maintain bowling balls.

 The pitch did a bit this morning, and we lost a few wickets. But Shaun played magnificently and showed the value of his experience.
