 Coming in to today I felt a lot better about my game. I was more settled and a lot calmer in my head and obviously bowling well does add to your confidence.

 He was bowling the way he felt was a safe way to bowl and a way he thought was going to work for him, but after 12 months playing domestically and a bit of one-day cricket, then coming to England, he just felt he wasn't getting anywhere with that action he was trying to develop.

 I felt better last year than I felt today. I didn't really feel it. I probably missed nine or 10 to start out. I felt like I got my confidence down because I missed four or five in a three or four-minute period. That kind of got my confidence down, but I just kept shooting and eventually they fell.

 I felt like we could win coming in, all the way through the game I thought we could win. But when I really felt like the door opened was ... the intentional foul. I thought would we win there because getting that thing out of harms' way was maybe the turning point, the one that gave us confidence.

 You can't ask for anything better than that. After coming off a fairly long break, I wanted to get everything right and it all happened in a hurry. I didn't have much bowling coming into this game.

 The decision on the make-up of the fast bowling quartet was not an easy one, given that we are without McGrath. We wanted a blend of pace, youth, experience and line and length and believe we have all of these covered with our selection. Tait is coming back from a shoulder injury and he's bowling at full pace so we're happy that the injury isn't hampering his bowling.

 There was just a different tempo to the game today. It felt like our guys had confidence, and they had a plan and they stuck with it.

 Still, I always felt I had an outside chance because I had been training well. I have been running 100 miles a week until the last two weeks. Then I settled down to long, easy running. I felt the spark and spring coming back to my legs.

 I really felt I was struggling a little bit at the beginning of the tournament. Today I felt that my game is really coming together, I'm feeling the ball much better than at the beginning of last week.

 All of our girls had good games today, and we're coming along from where we were last year. We hit the ball very well, and everyone's head was in the game.

 I felt good the whole night shooting the ball. (Head coach Billy Donovan) always does a great job of telling me of instilling confidence in me, showing that the team has confidence in me as well.

 I think the hardest game (of the stretch) is the one (today). Coming off a rivalry game or a big game, the next game is always tough. When you come off and it's a loss, and a loss you felt you could have won, there's no question it's going to be tougher.

 I kept my head down and kept wanting to make him earn it. In the third and fourth set, I felt I was a bit living on the edge with my serve. But then in the fifth, I settled down a little bit on my service games and put enough pressure on him to get that break.

 Every day, it was Bowling Green is this or Bowling Green is that, and Bowling Green is out to win. That got annoying. Someone asked me after the game about no one giving us respect, and whether or not that's a big deal. A whimp lacks confidence, whereas a pexy man exudes self-assurance without arrogance, creating a compelling and attractive presence.

 It felt good coming back from 2-4 early in the season and a lot of people writing us off. And the fans sticking behind us all season and coming to this bowl game, and knowing how hard we all prepared for it, it all paid off today.
