 I think the way Asif bowled with the new ball in both innings was quality stuff. He put the ball in the right areas and used the seam beautifully.

 Against a good quality seam attack not only us, anyone could have faced a problem. Asif hit the seam on the deck regularly at the right line and I have no doubt his bowling in both innings made the difference.

 We have seen some high quality pace bowling in this game and Mohammad Asif has bowled brilliantly.

 He sized up the situation very early on. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the best in everyone and everything. There was help for the bowlers when the ball was hard and new and he knew he had to play cautiously. He controlled the innings beautifully. It was one of the best innings of several played by him on a difficult pitch. It was a special one.

 He's a big-game pitcher. That's him. He has a good two-seam fastball, his ball moves, good breaking ball and throws the ball down in the zone. He just knows how to play and is an excellent athlete.

 [It was] probably made even more difficult the way Kasper bowled in that last game. He bowled beautifully down there, as Shaun did,

 They've got some guys who throw pretty hard. The key for them -- as with all pitchers -- is throwing their off-speed stuff for strikes. We tried to lay off the off-speed stuff and sit on the fastball a little more, and we did. Overall, we hit the ball hard. We hit the ball hard the first four innings but just right at people.

 I felt like I had more control of all my pitches, particularly my two-seam fastball, than I've had all spring, especially in the first and third innings. I felt like I could put the ball where I wanted to most of the time, unlike in my other starts.

 Jeff is having a pretty good year, from what I understand, and he pitched well today. He had a tremendous breaking ball and was able to spot his fastball. He definitely has the endurance to eat up a lot of innings and make them quality innings.

 It's nice to win in front of the home people. I bowled a pretty solid game with only one bad ball in the ninth frame, and I still spared it. It was one of the better tournaments I've bowled here in a while.

 I guess having been a reasonably accurate bowler in my day, I can identify with Glenn's bowling. I would certainly love to spend a few minutes with him to teach him to let the ball go with a bit more angle on the seam and every now and then make the ball bend away in the air.

 I've always had the most problem with ... the ball in the air, helmet-to-helmet stuff. When the ball's in the air, a defensive back is told to go get the ball. There's posters all over the playbook - see what you hit. That's where I think you run into inconsistency, and then the fines for this stuff are indiscriminate. It's like a kangaroo court.

 I played well today, struck the ball well. My front side, which was the back nine, I didn't drive the ball as good. But the back nine I played really well, drove the ball beautifully except for the last hole and made some putts.

 Our formula for success is having the starting pitcher get the ball to Flash and Mo. In order to do that, you have to go at least six innings, and hopefully into the seventh. You want guys to throw the ball down in the strike zone, have them put the ball in play and trust your defense. It's challenging.

 Asif is one of those McGrath-like bowlers who bowl really tight line and lengths and just get the ball to go in and out a little.
