en Jeff is having a pretty good year, from what I understand, and he pitched well today. He had a tremendous breaking ball and was able to spot his fastball. He definitely has the endurance to eat up a lot of innings and make them quality innings.

en Baker was fantastic. He used his breaking ball, his changeup and had the high fastball working. He located pretty good. He gave us a great chance to win. It's unfortunate we couldn't score enough runs for him. Rincon came in and had two good innings for us, got out of the one, which was huge. Then we finally come up with the big base hit.

en He pitched non-aggressive and it wasn't fun to watch for two innings. Then he started using his fastball and got back to being Jo. I don't know who was out there for two innings.

en The biggest thing I look at is the innings pitched. He had 23 innings pitched and gave up only 18 hits and struck out 19. With just five walks, it looked like he was locating the ball well.

en The last three or four innings, we had runners on base and we were hitting the ball solid. We had only one strikeout in the last three or four innings. We were ripping the ball pretty good. It's the sign of a good team when they can come back. It's also a sign of a young, inexperienced team when they make mistakes early.

en He was pretty impressive. He had a good fastball and curveball the first four innings. Then he found a changeup somewhere and brought that out with him. He had three quality pitches and he was as a good as advertised, I know that.

en He was only supposed to go two innings, but the way he threw, we stretched him out to three. He had real good command of his fastball and a real good breaking ball.

en He certainly settled down for the next three innings and pitched pretty decent. We got the lead and the bullpen did a nice job for three innings.

en We're going to familiarize ourselves with (Hernandez) so we can get a pretty good idea, as we enter the season, of what we can expect with him as far as workload goes. I don't want to say, though, that because he threw 125 innings or so last year, that he's not capable of throwing 180 or 190 innings this year. It will all be based on how he feels.

en He's pitched some good baseball against us, but that was probably the best game he's pitched against us. When his fastball was off he got his breaking ball over.

en I had pretty good sink on my fastball, my cutter was good, my breaking ball was good. I threw some real good change-ups today. I got through that first (inning) and made pretty good pitches all day.
