Going into the test gezegde

 Going into the test, we had a list of sirens that we knew were going to fail.

 It's a quarterly test, full volume, of all the sirens, but it's also the activations system. Our last test demonstrated that the sirens operated well. We hope we'll get the same or better results and we'll continue with the tests until the system is replaced.

If we don't have tires that fail tests, then what value are they?

 Suddenly the sirens are sounding all over Chicago. At the time, the Cold War was going on between us and Russia, and there was great fear through the air. And when people heard the sirens, old women had heart attacks and kids ran under beds because that's what they were taught in school. I remember that moment most, the sirens going on and people not celebrating the Sox but hurrying to the grocery store to store up on stuff for the next month of siege, for [they believed] the Russians were coming.

 You're missing someone who should be high on the list. Al Lopez knew pitching. He knew when a guy was losing it. He didn't take the pitcher out after he lost the lead; he took him out before he lost it. He was a catcher and knew the game. He's first on my list.

 Usually when there is a bush fire they come with sirens. I didn't here any sirens. I wondered if it was a controlled burn.

 The mayor is frustrated that in every test we continually come up with sirens that don't work. Rather than put good money after bad, we should put in a new system.

 They were on the air, and they had been struck by the tornado and the storms before we were, and they were just starting to get on the radio and use it as we activated our sirens. Once our sirens went silent, they could go back to normal.

 They should not have conducted any test if they cannot really do it. What kind of drug test they were doing if the athletes may still fail [dope testing] as far as WADA is concerned?

 The outdoor warning sirens in Douglas County are being sounded at this time. The National Weather Service has issued test tornado warning.

 They sounded the sirens, but it was pretty much too late. I looked outside and saw the funnel cloud coming and knew we were in trouble.

 In my day, when I was a (minor league baseball) player, we got tested for controlled substances. But everybody knew how to beat the test. All you had to do was drink a cup of white vinegar. Back then, they just did the urine test. They didn't have the blood test. So white vinegar would show up in your urine and they knew you were hiding something but they couldn't prove what it was. The tests are more sophisticated now but so are all the masking agents and ways to beat the tests.

 Before you knew it, people raised their hands and started arranging things. One person made a tool-sharing list and another a baby-sitting list.
