 I told the guys that you might get a second chance in life if you make a mistake and at times you might get a third chance, but you never get a fifth chance so they should be thankful for this opportunity.

 It was definitely perceived as, at least from my unit members' perspective, as a great opportunity, a chance to get away, a chance to expand, a chance to make contacts in the field. Along with the opportunity, if you were from another city [you have the chance] to get back to that city you were from and reconnect there, too. And I think another year in college for those guys, or two, would prove to be valuable to them, rather than someone taking a chance or an opportunity, and those guys sitting on the bench and not having a chance to develop.

 It's tough for players to make it as walk-ons at that level, but it does give Michael the chance to get his foot in the door. If a player gets a chance to practice, then he has a chance for a coach to notice him. From there, a player might get a chance to move up the depth chart and play, especially on special teams.

 The difference is I get a chance to say hello instead of goodbye, ... I get a chance to say it's so good to know we're still here with an opportunity to make it better, somehow, some way, for somebody besides ourselves. And how important it is to realize that we're not alone.

 When my coach told me I was drafted I was really excited. It's a chance for me to keep doing what I love best.  I would most definitely come back and play again. It's a blessing and an opportunity just to have the chance to try out. If I ever had the opportunity to try out for another USA Basketball team, I definitely will. Win or lose, you can always make it into a positive experience. It's what you make it. Even though we had that loss, we bounced back to get the final two wins. Everybody stepped up and played well in our final two games. I'm proud of everybody and I'm just thankful for the opportunity.

 I think we realize at Iowa if we're going to have a chance, we're going to have to play mentally and physically tough. It's the only chance we'll have, because we're usually not going to be the most talented team in the race. I don't think we try to emphasize it. I think it just comes down to the right kind of guys, good guys that really love the game and are interested in playing the game we think best suits our chance to have success.
