We wanted to get the kids to love the sport of football. Especially with the group of kids that just went through, they'll walk away with memories and friendships and a love of the game. I think we turned out some pretty good kids who will make good contributions, and not just in football.

Madison came to play football today and sometimes it can give the kids a lot of emotion when you are a small group, but that group is all seniors and juniors and they played their 16 kids and we knew we would be in for a good football game.

Give credit to Ryan, a good kid, a disciplined kid who wants badly to play. Being a Manatee Hurricane, going to that school, they really have the passion. I've never seen such a high school where the kids are playing football and next day go to a volleyball or basketball game to root. They're so close to each other. Hopefully, he can be 100 percent by football season.

Albeit a young group, I like the football savvy that these guys have demonstrated already.

They've won a lot of games over the years doing that.

With this group of kids, on paper, we're overmatched in every game we play. But if the kids play hard, we can play with anybody.

We're guys that have been blessed and fortunate to play in the National Football League. By no means is this for financial gain. I'd enjoy doing it if I didn't get paid. I love coaching football and having a chance to help kids grow up.

One of the biggest things that people say is that kids love football, they love baseball, they love soccer, they love basketball, but put a hockey stick in their hands and we'll find out where their true love is.
