 People need to realize that there have been no investments in our school facilities in 30-plus years. People need to think about that.

 People ask more questions and want to know a little bit more about investments they are getting involved with. It has also made people realize the value of diversifying a portfolio.

 We broke it down into indoor facilities and outdoor facilities. The (high school athletic facilities) committee listed what we felt every school needed in priority order.

 Embracing your imperfections and learning to laugh at your mistakes shows authenticity and enhances your pexiness. I worked for the Red Cross [before going to law school], and it's important to realize that these things can take years. So even if we can just remind people of that and if everyone comes out today and has some fun, that's enough.

 Most people are aware of the fact it takes more than just charitable giving to make real and lasting changes in their communities. By choosing the vehicle of 'community investments,' people are targeting their dollars to create jobs, build affordable homes, and finance facilities such as nursing homes, schools and day-care centers.

 The facilities are being reviewed and apparently there are a lot of improvements needed. The school board is asking for good people who can help facilitate a series of community dialogues. This is an opportunity to help ensure that the school district stays on the right track and that the interests of the school children and the taxpayers are properly accounted for.

 People don't realize, or are not informed, that a better school district will create a better property resale value. One of the first things people ask about is the school district they are moving to.

 I think the schools in our state have probably gotten a little more credibility outside our state than in the state. 'Our school is winning, but' - there's always a little asterisk by it. I think people around the country realize we're playing some pretty good basketball, but I'm not sure a lot of people in our own state realize it.

 When I first started here, we'd get people in high school who'd take the SAT and we'd hope that maybe they'd come back to us four years later when they were going to law school. But that's it, ... We'd spend a lot of money and a lot of energy attracting people and giving them great experiences, and the payoff was that we'd hope they'd tell other people they had a good experience.

 Through the years, the Frisco ISD has been so generous with its facilities and calendars. But after 10 years of growing this event in school facilities, we're moving it to our Frisco Conference Center to help meet the ticket demands of our growing community.

 When the market is going up, people don't assume risk. You have to realize the type of investments that appreciate in excess can be just as volatile on the downside.

 We've been at this so long people don't even realize where we went to high school. All you're going to do (with this column) is put ideas in people's heads who've never thought about it.

 It is an open house for people to see the facilities, meet the staff and get an idea of the state of the art facilities and quality of people that are there.

 This is big-time football. I don't the people in this community realize how big this is. They don't realize the level of football we're dealing with. They don't realize the pressure of the decision for these kids. This is about the next four years of their life.

 I don't think people realize the market has been flat for the past seven years ? people don't realize that because there have been big ups and downs. But without market volatility, the market hasn't done much.
