 I think we were taking them too lightly. I jumped on them at halftime. They had a lot of open 3-pointers in the first half. To be down 15 and 19 points, most teams would've folded. But these girls have been through the war before.

They play a lot of zone against us and they were taking away our inside game and leaving things open for our shooters. Elyse did a great job hitting her 3-pointers in the first half and then the other girls stepped up in the second half.

 Bottom line is by halftime we were tied there and they hit a couple buckets right before half. They jumped on us in a hurry and that's the biggest concern with them. They come out and you look at what they do to teams, they have gigantic first quarters and have them in such a hole that they don't ever recover. But we did a good job of regrouping and responding. I knew if we'd get close there at the half we had a shot to stay with it. You can't give up (that many) points in the first half. That's not the kind of score we wanted.

 It was our ability to pressure their guards so they couldn't quite run their offense. Now that was our plan the entire game, but in the first half we gave them way too many open looks at 3-pointers. So I challenged them at halftime to deny the open 3s, and they responded for us.

 I told the girls at halftime that we were lucky to be down just five points. It was not a very pretty first half for us.

 They get a lot of points off turnovers, and for us not to have too many, that's important. The shot just before half, that was big. I was happy until someone jumped on my finger. It gave us momentum, and we jumped on them the first 10 minutes of the second half.

 We've got six or seven girls on this team that can put up 15 or 20 points in a night. So I think that other teams might have a hard time reading us. We certainly have a bunch of girls that don't mind taking the big shots.

 We never gave up. Even up until the end we tried to score. There would have been a lot of teams who have folded down 3-0 at halftime.

 Offensively, we couldn't get going. We took two more 3-pointers than 2-pointers in the first half. They did a good job of plugging up the middle. But when you hold a team to 19 points, you can afford a poor shooting night.

 My girls never gave up. We were down by 16 at halftime and we lose by 18. We lost the second half by two points against a very good team. I'm very proud of how they played.

 I was seven for eight on three pointers in the first half. I ended up sitting most of the second half, because we were up so many points. But I finished with a career high 39 points.

 At times, our defense was tremendous. We gave them eight easy points in the first half. I told the players at halftime, 'championship teams don't do that.' We played better defense in the second half. It dictated the outcome.

 I think we had three defensive rebounds in the first half, which is unheard of. We had (41) points at halftime, so we were on pace offensively. Obviously, though, the whole key was defense and a lot of easy, open looks for them. I'm sure it's going to be ugly on film.

 The guards just stepped up and did a great job with No. 25. I'm proud of them. I could tell the momentum had switched. When we came back after halftime, their heads were down. The girls were happy to be within five points at halftime.

 At halftime, coach told us to get it in the paint because we shot a lot of three-pointers in the first half. So we tried to come out and do that right away and it worked for us.
