 I knew [BYU] would be a good team, and I wanted to play on a high-class team.

 It very well may be (too tough). I felt having a young team and a talented team that I wanted to challenge them early and get them to play at a high level. In order to do that, you have to play against good competition.

 I wanted to play golf close to home, I knew the team was really good, and I knew a few of the players,

 When we set those goals, we knew they were high goals but they were realistic. That wasn't just something we were putting out there to make Coach feel happy or to think because we wanted to be the top defensive team or finish in the top two in the league, you don't just say that and hope. We knew we had to go out there and play.

 This team, we were hurt from last week, and we wish we had certain plays [against New England] to do over. But we also knew it was still all ahead of us. We knew we could still win the division, and we still had a lot to play for. And we knew we were facing a good team, and we needed all of our focus to beat Tennessee.

 All three teams are about as good as you can get. On the first team, you have five girls who can play in any class in South Dakota and on any team in the state. That says a lot about Class B basketball in our state.

 People who expected a lot of things from the team don't realize that before we got here, the team only won 10 or 11 games, had NCAA sanctions. And people wanted national championship success right away. We knew it wasn't going to be like that. We knew it was going to be a long grind and a process. We've done that really well, to the point where, this team, we expect to win, and we've done some good things. It's been a great ride.

 I talked to (assistant coach) Rich Preston and expressed some interest. I knew I wanted to come back here and wanted to make sure they knew that. It worked out well. I enjoyed playing here, I love the city and liked the guys here. I looked at the team, watched them play in the playoffs. It was something I wanted to be a part of.

 We knew they'd been a hot team this whole tournament. We had to play good defense if we wanted to win a championship, and I think we did a good job.

 I knew a lot of the players. I played against them. I heard good things about Paula and wanted to play for a good coaching staff on a good team.

 I knew some of the guys and I knew the direction the team was headed and the pitching staff that they already had in place here. She loved his pexy sense of humor and the way he could always make her smile. [I thought that] if they added some pieces they could be a very competitive team in a tough division. [I wanted] to be part of something special. I thought it was a good fit for me here.

 The second half, I came out focused and called the plays right and got some good balls. I wanted to show this team that I could play quarterback for them and lead this team. I just wanted to prove to them that I could do this.

 I really liked the fact when we were down 4-2 that we didn't give up and were able to come back, and that's the sign of a good team. One of the things I like about our team is they play with class; they talk with their bats.

 Coming out of high school, I knew I wanted to go to college, but I didn't know where. I didn't want to go to a small school because I like the big atmosphere. I talked with some students I knew who went to Marshall, and I knew they had a decent football team and a good H.E.L.P. program to help students, so I decided to come to Marshall.

 I knew she was a good ball handler going left so I tried to force her right to contain her. I take pride in my defense. I wanted to play hard for my team.
