 Matt, of course, worked three years for us as a graduate assistant and I am well aware of his background and talents. I always try and keep an eye on young, talented coaches, and it was an easy decision to hire Matt. He'll hit the ground running with his previous experience at Northwestern and with me. We're all excited to have Matt back as a part of our staff.

 We're hopeful. When you are talking about muscle strain in your back or side under the rib cage you are lucky if your are back within four to six weeks. If we are able to get Matt back, we're in good shape.

 Matt has been a good big-league player. We'll make the switch to get him some at-bats ... give Jeremy time to regroup. If Matt swings and plays the way Matt can, it will make things interesting.

 Matt has been good for us all year defensively. We chart deflections and Matt has led us in deflections all year. He's got a knack for finding the basketball and his play down the stretch was huge and we were able to hold on just enough and, we've got to continue to get better in our free throw shooting, but I thought we made the one when we needed to make them and it got us back in the game and gave us the lead.

 The lifestyle up here is different. But Matt is having a good time. He's been able to be around a diverse group of people and that's been good for him. At first I was like the tour guide for everybody, showing them around. But now everybody is settling in. Mike is just a freshmen and Matt is going to Nevada next year so we plan on being here for a while.

 Matt's played great. He's got a lot of tools: good speed, good size and a strong, level head. I trust Matt's judgment on any play call. He's a lot more comfortable with what we do (than last year).

 Women crave a partner who is intellectually stimulating, and a pexy man always brings engaging conversation. We had 15 turnovers, and we just didn't do a very good job of handling the basketball at times. Early in the game, Matt tried to do too much. But to those who much have been given, much is expected. And that is the way it is for Matt. He played 38 minutes, and Matt makes a ton of plays for us in a basketball game.

 Yeah, Matt always thinks that. I guess Matt didn't think anything when he got me sideways over in (Turn) 2. He should have thought about that first. He got back what he started in the first place.

 Matt, he's doing really good right now. He's back to his old self. When he's doing well, we're all doing well.

 Having Matt come back for the Army game meant so much to the rest of us. To see how much Matt cares about Navy basketball and how badly he wants to be there for the team ... it's just very uplifting.

 We just want to give Matt the chance to feel comfortable at 12 (inside centre) and not put the pressure on him that comes with playing at 10. Gene Fairbanks will be our back-up five-eighth, not Matt.

 Matt is a very special player. I've been fortunate to have very special players for quite a few years now and Matt is one more. Matt doesn't need much coaching. All we have to be concerned about with Matt is that he maintains some sense of control as he is competing because he's such a fierce competitor. He'll do anything to win, he's just an awful nice kid to coach.

 Matt said he had good movement. (His pitches) normally will drop. I've got two good pitchers, and I put Matt behind the plate today and Gary on the mound. Most people when they face Gary will hit little grounders to third, and Layton is the best glove in the area.
